WHAT I ACTUALLY EAT VS. MY RECOMMENDED CALORIES


hello my amazing beautiful wonderful fantastic friends welcome back to my channel so today I had an idea for the video I was going to be filming today and that idea was that I would be eating the recommended caloric intake and not the recommended caloric intake that you see when you pick up like a food package then you look at the nutritional information and it’s based off of like a 2,000 calorie diet oh no no no I thought that I would go online onto one of those calorie calculators that takes your age your weight your height your gender and your activity level because these five variables are the only things that matter and I thought I type all of these factors in those calculators spit out a caloric value and it says this is how many calories you need to be eating every single day to maintain your weight so that was the idea for today that I would eat that many calories however many calories that calculator tells me that I’m allowed to eat but then another idea sparked my brain sparked my brain that didn’t make sense I actually had to meet up with someone before and I was walking in the scorching scorching heat and all I could think about was like oh my god I’m so hungry and then the idea of filming this video was just not not fun it was no longer fun and then I was like wait what if I tweaked it just a little bit so I asked you guys on my Instagram and I haven’t seen the results yet but I said that I had a question for you guys if you aren’t following me on instagram i highly recommend you follow me on instagram and twitter because i take a lot of polls on there so you guys can have a say and what goes on on this channel i said i want to do a video where I eat my recommend to Klerk intake for a day based off of those calorie calculators but would you guys rather eat how I normally do track my calories and then at the end of the day I see how different the core guys are and then I did a little pull and okay so these are the results we have 62% of people saying that I do that and 38% of people said to just eat whatever the calorie calculator told me to do so 62% majority wins my friends so I’m basically going to be doing a full tape eating today except I’m going to be tracking I’m not gonna track throughout the day I’m just going to kind of write down everything I eat for each meal and then at the end of the day I’m going to track and I’m also not going to calculate my recommended Klerk and take until at the end of the night and then we shall compare the two values and see if they are so I think they’ll be really exciting because I don’t really weigh myself but I’d say that I have maintained my weight for quite a while now so it’d be interesting to see how many calories I actually do need to maintain my weight compared to what this calorie calculator is telling me I also want to make it like a really quick disclaimer there is going to be tracking in this video so if tracking calories and things like that is it’s been like my favorite breakfast of all time oatmeal is my favorite breakfast of all time but like I have said before it is boiling hot so I’m more into like the colds breakfast I don’t know why but like as the day goes on I’ll eat hotter meals first thing in the morning I need something cold lately so I’m gonna make some mueslix and I guess I should weigh everything out to be accurate and then I’ll keep all the measurements in a note on my phone so I can plug it all in later they’re gonna be so excellent there’s always sirens going off oh my god y’all hear that sorry okay we’ve got all the ingredients right here to make the world’s best music the world’s best music chill chill alright so I have my food skill right here and if you want to like accurately weigh everything you put the bowl on top of the scale before you turn it on because I’m gonna turn it on it’ll be CR not with the bowling yeah I don’t know why I’m as talking to you guys like you guys don’t already know this stuff but whatever while I’m doing it I’m gonna cover this like hold my hand over like this without touching it or else I’ll add weight I don’t want to like be looking at it while I’m doing it because then I feel like that’ll skew how much I put in does that make sense I don’t know so the first thing that I add is this Swiss muesli right here because I like the bulk of my muesli this one has like some raisins and stuff in it but not that many it’s mostly just whole grain rolled oats I like the bulk of my muesli to be this stuff but then I also like to add this muesli because this measly has a ton of almonds sunflower seeds dried cranberries raisins dried apples coconut pumpkin seeds delicious so I like to add a mix of these two and then I also add some nut butter banana granola from sprouts love this granola and then I also just add some grape nuts because it’s like a really good source of fiber and I just like to sprinkle few of those in there let’s put this together cover it like that okay that much is good so that’s 60 grams 60 grams I’m usually good the raisins in there any raisins in this month where are you guys you’re right there come on I have to take my hand out I’m sorry 36 grams of this Musa Lee and then we have this granola just sprinkle it funny grams of granola 11 10 11 10 11 11 kiss alright now we have some chia seeds 5 grams and chia seeds I only do a little bit cheesie’s and have hearts because I want to get them healthy fats but this stuff is expensive so we want to make it last as long as possible so 5 and 5 and salts always gonna love this salt and now I’m gonna be using this so delicious coconut milk yogurt I usually use my cashew yogurt but they don’t have it the last time I was at Whole Foods so I got this sixty I have this Koya drink this is in coconut almond which is delish so this is fluid ounces and the scale also measures in fluid ounces to do it houses so I think that’s everything that I need okay I mean it’s a little bit more so 2.7 see that’s kind of annoying with tracking is because when I’m making something I can usually just like eyeball things but with this actually turn it on make sure everything’s zeroed Oh perfect so now I’m just gonna leave this in the fridge let it all soak and I’ll be back in like an hour or two oh that’s crooked just just a little bit it’s anyone surprised I’ve already changed before I get into my breakfast oh look who came if you don’t know who this is this is chimney and this is a bt 21 a lion that has to do it like BTS they came up with these little characters and this is Jim I also got Sookie who is young jeez oh my god moving along I have to start topping my music so I like to top my muesli with strawberries I like to top my muesli with strawberries blueberries and sometimes I also like to add like banana or apple but I don’t have either of those and also a ton of Trader Joe’s creamy raw Tom and butter this stuff it’s delicious I’m gonna be adding all of these and we get my measly wearing my fake you t-shirt this is tsukishima love him alright so we have the muesli here it’s nice and soaked in I used to be someone that tracked all of my calories and all of my macronutrients and everything like that and doing it now wolf I used to be someone that like tracked all of my calories and all of my macros and everything like that which is wild to me because doing it now I’m like this is so big sauce ting it’s so tedious Oh No 125 ok 50 grams of blueberries so now for the almond butter now it zeroed out and then I can just freely Tris and then I’ll put it back on and I’ll show you how much was taken out 36 grams okay so there is my breakfast I’m so excited to eat it oh my god so that is going to be meal number one I’ll see you guys man happy meal [Music] all right we are back with I was gonna say meal number two but sup really a meal it’s more of like a snack but I’m going to be having this is like one of my favorite snacks of all time is these josephs mini cutest Mac’s so much they’re just like a perfect size for dipping so I’m going to be having some of these alright so I have 12 in here because I feel like that’s all that’s really gonna fit because this other half is going to be for these Mary’s gone crackers I love love dipping these and hummus they’re like superseded a CD CD I’m going to have to count these I keep forgetting that to count like how many I’m having because the serving size is 12 crackers like usually I would just kind of dump them ahead and just eat to my heart’s content and then last but not least I will admit this is not those nutritious snack but this is just what I’m feeling I have to weigh these out wait is there a number on these 18 pieces I’ll do that I’ve got my little snack Bowl right here and then of course of course I literally have this comments every single day but I’m gonna have this and I never weigh on my hummus either so okay what I think I’m gonna do is I’m gonna weigh what this is and then I’m gonna take this to the couch enjoy some YouTube while I eat my snack and then I’ll weigh it again and I’ll do some math where I like have to subtract the original weight to the weight cuz they don’t give me how much I eat does that make sense this is I don’t this is like crazy to me because I used to do this every day and I just went through the day like it was normal now I’m so tired I don’t want to track my food I’m doing it for you I’m doing it for the youtubes okay so we are going to weigh this and then I’m gonna eat and then I’ll wait again 455 grams that is our starting weight and we shall see how much of this I can sing okay so I’ve just finished my snack so now I’m just going to weigh out this hummus again to see how much I’ve had 325 so I hadn’t I don’t know I’ll do the math later had that was delish feelin pretty satisfied but we’ll see how I feel in like five minutes since that time stop okay so I want a little something sweet so lately these have been my obsession I think this is like my fourth container they’re so good there are the sea salts and turbinado sugar I’m not really sure what that is but who cares it’s the dark chocolate covered almonds from Trader Joe’s the serving size is 13 pieces I don’t really know how much I usually have I usually just like when I want something sweet I’ll just have a few mmm oh my god mmm so that’s five and that’s really all I need I think that should hold me over until dinner oh by the way I’m like I said before but I finished the back of chips the bag of the sweet chili chips because why not all that should hold me over until dinnertime so see you guys okay so the last thing over to be making is this vegan fried rice kimchi fried rice so I’m just be adding a few different vegetables kimchi obviously rice and then some of this vegan egg that is absolute delicious I love this stuff I’m gonna make that really quick can I be back with you guys when it’s all put together okay so I finished my dinner and I also plugged everything that I have eaten today into a life some when I plugged everything in it said I had eaten about 2600 calories 2680 and now I’m on this website and I’m just going to start plugging in all my units and we’re gonna see how many calories I should be in taking and then compare it to how much I actually eat because I would say that this is like pretty close what I usually eat throughout the day I might have like a little bit of chocolate and a little bit but than that that’s about it my age I am 22 years of old I have a female 5 feet tall I’m about hundred twenty pounds activity exercise four to five times a week yeah I’d say it’s like a moderate activity level and to calculate oh wow okay hmm so this calculator tells me I should be eating approximately 1,800 calories a day I’m a little bit off on that it actually looks like this calculator set me at 1800 – because when I plugged everything in it’s saying I’m about eight hundred and eight calories over which is actually like 1800 calories on the dot wait that’s so weird oh my god well I’m eating almost a thousand calories over than what I should be eating which is why these calculators aren’t exactly ideal for the most part I know that some people say that they’re like a good starting point but are they really I feel like you should just eat how you normally eat if you really want to go into like calorie tracking and everything like that I feel like the best way it’s just eat how you normally eat and track it that way so like if I did this I would set my maintenance to 2600 calories instead which means if I want to do like a little deficit I would be eating 2,400 calories where instead if I went on this online calculator I would see that I’d be needing for a mild weight loss like 1,500 calories a day as opposed to like 2,400 calories a day so it’s a big difference and when you under eat cuts cutting your calories is going to stress your body out which will raise your cortisol levels and especially if you’re under eating too much too quickly your cortisol levels are going to spike which also in turn makes your body hold on to fat because you are stressing it out it always do is keep you alive and keep you healthy these Cal your calculators I’m sure they work for some people but clearly very clearly does not work for everyone but that was a really interesting video I kind of enjoyed doing this and I enjoyed seeing the difference in the two I hope you guys enjoyed it as well make sure to give it a thumbs up to let me know that you
