alright let’s go ahead and get right into this what is up guys welcome back to the channel as you can probably tell by the tiling of this video I am on a new diet I know what you’re thinking this new changes diets like it changes underwear like this is a diet I’ve never tried before well for the past week I’ve tried it I’m doing a lot of research and basically what I feel personally after following this on if you can tell right now but I am amped energy levels are at an all-time high I think this might be the best diet I have ever actually followed so I’m gonna break all of that down for you guys but a long story short I am off of keto I’ve been for about a week now and overall the diet was great I did enjoy it I think it’s a great diet for anybody that wants to follow it but for me personally I had a hard time fitting it into my lifestyle but some of you guys wanted to see a physique update after the keto let’s go ahead and do that right now come on head to the nearest room we got Oh check out the way I run my cables up to my office super professional I know ok bathroom check toilet seats down that’s a good thing toilet for a basket fully stocked game loaded ok this is going to be on me just as Mike lens I mean there we go ok so this is going to be my physique update at the end of keto now the thing with the keto diet was I stuck to it but I wasn’t really like doing crazy amounts of cardio I wasn’t really in a crazy deficit but overall I tightened up I feel like I did lose some size overall pretty good experience though for sure I just don’t think it’s like my die or so people like find what works best for you so let’s get to the physique update if we look ok see if you can zoom in a little bit on that I don’t know the lighting is the best but pretty tight right now not the leanest I’ve ever been but feeling pretty good always my dreaded little belly pouch here is always present so it requires me to cut really hard to get rid of that but overall I feel pretty good I wanna get another side shot there we go wear the shirt like a brassiere but not too bad see so physiques in a pretty good spot can’t complain it also pretty good results but anyways that is enough about that hopefully you guys enjoyed the keto stuff I did do I might still do some rescue videos things like that on the channel but overall I think for me personally I’m done with the diet for now I’m on to something else anyways let’s go talk about that ok we need to set up our little spot here first off though I had to move some decorations to set my tripod up tell me if these are some ball and office decorations we got a skull here not really sure what it’s from I found it at water beds and stuff for like 20 bucks so I got it adds a nice little demonic presence to the office and workstation and hold up where my Dragon Ball Z fans at man I seen this statue and had to buy it it was by far the coolest statue I’d ever seen of Dragon Ball Z or really anything but yeah that kind of sits right here too for a little motivation when I need it I look over like what would Goku be doing most likely harnessing the power for a spirit bomb to crush his enemies so I basically treat that as life so yeah Goku actually I need to be back down here and then finally you got a medal Darth Vader here where’s my Star Wars fans that man I ran like the nerd gambit here we got Star Wars we got Dragon Ball Z we got a demonic ritualistic skull for sacrificial purposes I don’t know check it out comment below man which one’s your favorite I think I like that one but this steampunk vibe is doing something for me okay let’s get the talking let’s get down to business so like the title suggested we were talking about the one meal a day diet I know what you’re thinking at first glance you’re probably like that sounds crazy but I assure you we are not starving ourselves we’re not doing anything like that when I posted about it on my Instagram which you guys are following me you should be following me by the way at Viru me to James links in description box I had some people commenting they were like oh that’s a good way of saying you are simply to starving yourself and I want to preface this by saying that we are not eating in a crazy depths that are doing anything out of the ordinary as far as macros are concerned this is the same exact macro setup McAlary setup as you would follow if you ate five meals a day like on a traditional meal program except you’re taking all of those and eating them all in one meal or within an hour timeframe the one meal a day diet is characterized by its 23 one fasting protocol which when you spend 23 hours of the day and a fasted State only consuming zero calorie beverages and things like that you have one hour to eat all your food which honestly for me I’ve been fasting for the longest time but I’ve never really fasted like this is something I kind of fell into on accident which I can touch on later in the video of how that happened it’s like 16 ate and are in fasting except it’s 23 1 so you’re gonna spend a lot more of your day fasted which for me is a good thing and I’ll explain that also true later so let’s go into some of the benefits of this diet and what I discovered after doing some research but what you need to understand about the one meal a day die and a lot of us suppose that benefits from it is that they almost all come from the fact that you’re spending 23 hours of the day fast and fasting for me is something I have always done not quite to this extreme but it’s something I’ve always practice and always preach the benefits of even if you go back to my from years ago when I first started the channel with something once I found that I feel like it was a game changer for me dietarily I’m gonna go ahead and share some of the benefits with you guys in case you’ve never fasted before maybe you want to start with a simpler fasting protocol than this maybe you’ll see some of these benefits that I’m about to outline but if it number one is it increasing your metabolism and an increase in fat mobilization so while you are fasting you got to look at it kind of this way you wake up in the morning with an empty stomach right you go straight to the fridge and you get some food the body primarily uses carbohydrates for energy so as soon as you eat whatever breakfast you eat let’s say you have a bowl of oatmeal let’s say you have a doughnut you have all that sugar there your body immediately has an accessible energy source and it’s less likely to burn fat off of your body if you don’t eat anything well your body’s looking for energy what does it have to turn to there’s nothing in your stomach right you only have muscle and fat kind of gonna go for one or the other and that’s why we’re all so weight training your twos that way our body prioritizes that it goes for fat and not muscle that’s also why I spend a lot of my day drinking branched chain amino acids delicious and another reason I drink so much too is that it almost seems to give me something to do all day I feel like a lot of eating and sometimes you because you’re bored but if I have a gallon of water with some flavor to it I can drink all day then hey we’re good man next benefit would be a positive effect on insulin resistance a lot of people that have gained a considerable amount of weight face issues with how they digest and break down carbohydrates specifically for some reason fasting when they did a test on mice showed a market improvement in their ability to break down sugars and they were less likely to store them as fat and more likely to use them as energy right away for so for some of you that might be having trouble with a diet you have an issue with carbohydrates fasting might be something worth trying studies have also shown there’s an increase in lifespan with fasting I didn’t get too far into that but hey if we can live longer the good thing in my book the next benefit I will say is one that I think resonates very well with me an improvement in your eating patterns so for me a lot of times when I cut in the past and my whole life really I’ve had issues with binge eating I have a hard time stepping away from my plate and not completely stuffing myself and that was an issue I faced a lot of diets late at night especially I sit and I just want to like eat and eat and eat I’m not really sure why but with this though I think the the primary benefit for me is that at nighttime when I finally do eat between 7 & 8 p.m. I get to have this massive meal and I feel almost like I’m having a cheat meal in a sense I could eat so much food by the end of it I am full I’m satisfied I don’t feel like I was deprived and I’m not really craving anything else I’ll break down my meal plan for you guys right now like what I’ve been doing in a future video but I’m telling you guys whatever this is like it’s working mentally for me and I think half the battle with any diet is finding something mentally that clicks with you something you don’t mind doing another benefit I can really really say I feel you guys might feel it resonating off me right now is an increase in energy and increase in mental cognitions with everything I have going on right now in my life like working at this computer all the time and I’m designing labels for the new products doing designs for the apparel everything we have going on right now I oh I have to be creative I have to think of ways that we’re gonna stand out ways to market ourselves and like for some reason when I am fasted like I am right now and not only is my energy at an all-time high it is 3:30 p.m. right now my energy is an all-time high but I’m just like focused right I’m not thinking about food all I’m thinking about is like getting the next thing done being productive right and that’s one thing I always try to preach is like if you want anything in life gotta be willing to work for it but how well can you work when you aren’t a hundred percent right I’m trying to do everything in my life right now to be a hundred percent all the time and I really do feel like this mental focus and clarity is something that makes this entire thing without any of the other benefits completely worth it I’m gonna get a tiny bit out there real quick but if you think about it like this right as a species as human beings we are now in a position where food is readily available we were able to kind of go anywhere spend a dollar get a double cheeseburger or whatever it’s not really an issue for us to get food when we were hunter-gatherers when we didn’t have food right and we didn’t have food in our belly it made you more alert it made you more energetic it made you more cognitive of what was going on around you because you had to go hunt for you you had to go out you had to like track something and then kill it and then cook it and if you didn’t there was a risk everybody in your tribe or you or your family or whatever would die so they’d say I’m sorry I got a little dark there but that’s like in a nutshell or if some of this comes from is basically like genetics over thousands of years I don’t know I’m not a doctor but from the research I’ve done that’s what they say and I mean sounds good to me this sound good to you and the final benefit before I move on would be that it helps with inflammation and can also help clear your skin if you have skin issues like acne you guys know I’ve struggled with acne for my entire life I had it really bad at the start of the channel I’m not sure if that was due to my diet or whatever was going on but now my skin other than some scars is pretty clear so I’m not saying that it’s a direct result of this but that is also another positive benefit fastening so now that we got that out of the way let’s move on what I’ve found in my research is that there are two different types of ways that people follow this diet one is basically how I’m doing it where I’m hitting my Macker so I’m still being very precise I’m fasting 23 hours eating within my window and getting everything done I’m exercising and doing all of that then there’s another group of people basically consider it a free-for-all diet so within that one hour they eat whatever they want and after that they’re done which people claim to have seen success doing this and ultimately it comes down to caloric restriction I would say honestly we only have one hour to eat that day and you’re not eating any the other times I just by simple mathematics alone you’re going to consume less calories and even then you go out for an hour have a crazy meal and you completely stuff your face I mean 2,000 calories is a lot for people if that’s what your total daily energy expenditure is and that’s what you’re trying to stick with that’s a lot of calories so people in general would like instead of eating four of those meals a day they eat one they feel fool they can’t eat after I can see some benefit there but ultimately what I’m going to preach you guys that is not the way I would ever recommend following this diet if you are going to follow it yourself a nice lean source of protein get yourself some good carbs you can have room for little treats there but make sure all your bases are covered in general like your micronutrients your vegetables your fiber things like that because ultimately your body’s a direct reflection of what you put in it if you want your body to be a Ferrari and put premium gas in it you can’t just go putting any regular old crap in it because it’s not gonna run very well and you’re not gonna be optimal so I would say if you’re gonna follow this make sure you are using your best judgment and really choosing foods that are healthy that you’re getting micronutrients out of and it’s not just some slot together cheeseburger or something like that really dial this in I’m telling you that’s what you’re gonna notice a lot of these results come from and I really want to take the time to point this out if you were thinking this is something you want to hop right into and you want to try it along with me I welcome you to do so that is one of the most satisfying parts about this channel was like when I try new diets is that when people fall along they post down they’re like hey I lost this much whey like I love hearing about that but the first thing I wanna preface is that if you are not used to fasting be careful some people absolutely do not adapt well to it while others seem to love it as with all things your body takes time to adapt so at first you’re probably gonna feel hungry you might feel like you don’t have energy because your body’s used to eating all day right you’re used to getting energy here your body knows okay at about noon we’re gonna get this at about 3:00 we’re gonna get this it roughly knows and when you go without that your body basically goes into disarray but the body is a very versa – and it’ll adapt to anything you throw at it so as I stated I have been following this and loved it gift understand that everybody is different completely different so what works really good for me something I follow something I preach it something I love and that’s maybe a negative of me and my personality is that when I love something I can’t help but talk about it and other people try it and it might not work for you is what I’m trying to say so if you do give this a try make sure you understand what you’re getting into you do a little bit of research yourself see if it’s a good fit for me personally I want to talk about how I accidentally stumbled upon it basically with life right now if you’ve been following along with my journey for a while you’ve been on the channel for a while you probably know right now that I am moving to California within a month and a half life has been crazy busy but not only do I have that I gotta figure out how to ship all my stuff over there also I got to ship my car we have two new companies launching a supplement company in an apparel company I’m partners with my buddy anchormen and working on designs for all of that getting our logos done our website set up our initial formulas for initial launch products our sizing charts and samples for the apparel there’s so much going on that basically has me stuck at my computer working all day I would assume a lot of you guys probably have desk jobs maybe we’re not moving around too much another reason why you need to keep your diet in check because when you’re sedentary it’s really essential you do that if you’re out moving all day at least you’re burning off some of those calories but for me I’ve been like trapped in here sitting and I’m working on all this stuff and what I hated most was like I would start working on a project I’d get like two hours in maybe and then I would stop and have to go eat and it’s almost like when I eat it would interrupt that and I took I’d come back I’d be a little more tired after I introduce food into my system and I felt like I just threw off my workflow and one day I had so much to do and I was so stressed out and I was like man you just got to crush this before you anything else get all this stuff dunks that he’s done I sat and I did it all next you know I look at the clock it’s like 7:00 p.m. and they go I haven’t eaten yet I didn’t think much of it went ahead took my entire calories Macker so that date is kind of like ate them all in one meal and that was it that night I slept like an absolute baby woke up the next day feeling completely refreshed that’s something I’ve always struggled with too is getting good sleep you don’t understand how important sleep is to everything you do coveri mental focus every time your mood how happy you are whatever so I slept like a baby woke up and I remember to sit in my computer and being like I’m in a great mood today like wow you know what is this from and I started researching it really thinking about it and I was like wow we had one meal yesterday and I looked it up and that’s when I discovered the Oh mad died I didn’t even know it was really like things I still would upon it almost completely by accident but ever since then like I said this was a week ago this has just been what I’m doing right and like my meal every night isn’t just chicken and rice I’ve been making basically clean tacos right lean beef tacos with high fiber wraps I put avocado on there I put some spinach in there I put a little bit of sauce I eat all of that and then I have an enlightened ice cream at the end of every single day so that’s been like my meal plan this last week and I honestly like I’ve been more vaster but work out something better I am super energized super creative able to get things done and I feel like um from now on right at least on this channel like this diet fits my lifestyle so well so moving forward I want to start vlogging more again it’s crazy something always in this room so I try to find cool things to do but I’m like always stuck in here I want to be able to like share with you guys my experience and everything on this diet so I know I’ve sat here and talked your ears off and I don’t know if maybe I captivated you a little bit and maybe trying this or maybe you’re interested in seeing what it does to me I know there’s some people to think I’m gonna like waste away into nothing from doing this and there’s you know whatever but I’m going to try my best to stick to this and see what happens I mean I I feel great guys I feel the best I’ve felt in a long time life is good everything’s good everywhere so why not man and it’s a new diet I have not done yet before so I can bring a home Brett the content of the channel I cannot maybe down to change some
