The Keto Diet – My 3 Week Update


hey Catherine here on green Snickers calm and today I wanted to give you a update about my new diet I’m on a keto diet and I wanted to give you a three week update so what do I think so far am i enjoying the keto diet and I was wholeheartedly say yes I am absolutely loving the keto diet if it isn’t really that different from the food that I was eating before just slightly different I’m still drinking my green turkeys in the morning I’m still having a soup at lunch am on the side at lunch time and I’m still having my stews in the evening and there’s just very slight subtle changes but basically it just increasing the fat in all those meals just makes them so much more tasty like I definitely do not notice the curbs have gone I don’t notice that the grains of God all I notice is the food is more satiating that it’s tastier and like for example the other day we made a public sermon this recipe book and I’m making these these paleo meals in my insta pot and there’s a curry recipe that I usually make that my whole family loves and I used to make it with rice on the side and now I have it where’s a cauliflower rice on the side and that’s just as tasty to me but I add more fats into the into the curry and it just the taste is just out of this world amazing it’s just like a proper like a takeaway like here in the UK we get really really good Indian restaurants and especially like when I live in Manchester we had something called a curry mile which is like a whole mile of Indian restaurants one after another after another and this so that the quality is out of this world amazing the taste is so good and when you find a really good curry house it’s just so good I mean I’m not sure if you if you live in a different country whether you have anything like it but if you come to the UK got to try out the courage they are so delicious but the only problem with the courage I mean they are they are really fatty which is the thing that makes them really tasty but the problem is that most of the you know the fact that the use is not a good quality like it might be things like canola oil so and when you make them yourself at home we use really good quality fats that makes it different like you feel so good after you don’t feel like you’re running to the toilet after it because you just feel amazing like you just you just can tell that it has such a good impact on your health so we’ve all been loving that like my whole family has really enjoyed all the meals I prepared for them and as we make extra clouds for them but generally it hasn’t been an issue at all the only thing really I’ve changed I used some times I would have an evening I guess your finished my evening meal sometimes I would have a big bowl of fruit they could be full of watermelon and I don’t have that anymore although I make a–make still and experiment with that in the future having it every few days and a car Bob and I’ll tell you a bit more about that in a minute but and I have not been having those at the moment I’ve been making something called fat from which is my husband really laughs so an essay that he thinks it’s hilarious and I’ve been making these for me and the kids we all adore these fat bombs and they’re basically like you get like you know coconut and cocoa butter and coconut oil and and you know other kind of powders it like like carob powder if you can tolerate it cacao powder which I don’t use and you mix it together and you can put different flavors ear nods like nuts and nut butters and things like that and they’re very high high fat little sweeties and they just they just taste gorgeous and they they don’t have any sugar in them and they still taste sweet and beautiful and my kids they go crazy for them they just keep asking for them make us any of those little sweeties and they just love them and I just feel so good knowing that that you know I’ve made something that my kids love and they’re healthy and we all adore them so I love this fat bump and they only took me five minutes to make so they are great and so yes I’m definitely enjoying the keto diet and love the food food is so delicious so what health improvements have I had since I started Kiko diet well first thing I noticed was that my nails got so strong like especially my thumb nails it would like Rock I never ever felt themselves Johnny my life and to me that is saying that you know I’m definitely getting healthier that if my bones are getting stronger that means our bones in all of my body is getting stronger not just my nails so that is such a good sign and that’s exactly you know the kind of diet that I know it is a healthy diet if you can feel these kind of benefits another thing is that I really like on my toes my bones I notice my teeth getting really really like glossy like whenever I might run my tongue over limp they just feel so smooth and so shiny and they just you know usually even when I’ve seen my teeth they feel a little bit kind of rough you know any surface has a lot of bitten rocks and you certainly know my kind of enamels are worn down the years of abuse and all that but enamel can can spring back to life again and this is the first date that I’ve ever been on where I thought wow I can really feel the difference in my teeth so that just my nails my piece as well so I am just so happy because if you know I’ve had a lot of teeth problems and I will do anything to you know keep the teeth that I’ve got left and keep them healthy and you know avoid any motty’s problem in the future so I just love that it’s keeping my teeth healthy so what else all my skin my skin is so soft it unbelievably soft like when I was a raw vegan that was a time that I felt that my skin was the softest and you know I thought wow my skin is so soft so the raw vegan but on this on this ketogenic day my skin is even faster than that and it feels amazing like I just cannot stop with my hands over my skin because I think wow I’ve never felt skin as soft as this before I what up my my blood sugar levels have finally stabilized and so I don’t know were they watching my videos but I had two major health problems lately as I was eating gluten and you know just occasionally I went on holiday has I’m going to got Dave knows of celiac disease and that is completely messed up my gesture my body I’ve got and severe I had a severe adrenal fatigue just but absolutely jello you know chronic fatigue syndrome couldn’t move couldn’t do anything absolutely anything completely wiped me out and so with that my blood sugar levels just went haywire even though I was a really healthy datafile that lean and most of the time whenever I was in the house I would eat really healthy food and you know before I got sick my blood sugar levels were absolutely great you know I’ve never needed to snack like a girl from one meal to another and sometimes even fast because I just sometimes didn’t feel hungry which was a very good sign that I had quite a lot of fats in my previous day and not as much as I’m having now obviously but still quite a lot and that makes a really big difference so I think my my blood sugar levels used to be amazing but with it you know when when I got in all these health issues out of the blue then at my blood sugar levels went absolutely crazy and even in when I went on to the healthy diet I had to snack I had to have a kind of you know morning snack afternoon snack evening snack and any time I felt even slightly hungry I had to eat immediately because otherwise I would get really low blood blood sugar I’d start feeling dizzy and didn’t you know didn’t seem to matter what kind of food I was eating it was just gone crazy so I just wait for that to be saved life and thankful ate now in the last few days it is finally just stabilized and if it makes such a big difference to me just to not feel that kind of shakiness that week Merson just you know dependency on eating food all the time so I can finally last from one meal to the next now without snacking which is great so I’m so so happy about that and also I feel like in my end over the last two days my energy has just returned which is amazing and I don’t want to speak to you soon because it might be too soon but when doing lots of other work on my health and I’ll share that feel under the ball post but you know two days ago I was doing this meditation and I just decided I am healed I’m healed and kind of been breaking down affirmations like that as well so I do not want to go against my informations by saying but you know I have this and I have that because I I feel at the moment I feel really really good so I’m going to enjoy that and because I feel good right now so it has made a big difference on my energy level now and there’s something that when you have a keto ketogenic diet there’s one thing about being in ketosis which I know that I have been in ketosis because I have been I’ve got a blood and ketones blood monitor and I’ve been checking that on a daily basis and sometimes every other day and every single time I check see I have been in ketosis knowing massively in ketosis but and maybe white one point two you are one point six in ketosis which is a very healthy and level to be in ketosis or I’m so happy about that so I’m definitely in ketosis and what to Sartorius are fat adapted so there’s one thing about being in ketosis which is good for you but and another thing about being fat adapted which means that your body switches and burns fat as its primary fuel and sorts of some rich sometimes people can get fat adapted within a week sometimes it can be three weeks sometimes six weeks sometimes longer and you know I feel family that and fat adapted and that means that you know that’s my my blood should label levels of save lives and that kind of thing so and there’s lots of sounds that you are a high status and leave a link to a video that you can watch to check whether you are fat the deputy on ketogenic day so I finally feel like I am fat adapted so I’m always made above that and have I had any problems and yes I’ve had a million of health problems over the past few weeks but as I said I had these previous health problems and I can’t say that these are anything to do with the ketogenic diet I have you know things like like diarrhea had awful awful diarrhea and also I went for a colonic so that you know got really bad I was worried about the gluten affecting me and things like that and but I actually think that um things I was doing as well wasn’t helping like I was drinking kefir and and I was thinking is this what’s causing me to have this video digestive problems and then cut it out and I’ve been finding so I think my system is a far too set of gears at the moment to drink kefir is not supposed to be amazing for your digestion at the moment my system just is messed up so much I can’t handle it so I think that was related to this because fear rather than the the occasion it dates because it’s improved now and other things I’ve had insomnia the last four days and I’ve had insomnia my whole life it’s not a new thing you know like especially like you know with my cycles and it just goes crazy at certain periods of time so I also know this thing is like we live we live under a flight path we’re really close to an airport and they just changed the flight path you might actually be able to hear it in the background right now as we speak plane is going over it right now and so you know parent it changes depending on the weather like if we get cleared a the planes start going over our house that sometimes these switches sometimes it doesn’t and be it’s so loud on it so it’s like an earthquake it’s like it’s under and this really affects my sleep you know when it’s a nice day and it’s hotter and I want the window open and I can’t have the window opens on too hot and I feel are stuffy and I have to have earplugs and white noise all these things to block out speed and the know that the planes going over so that has been affecting my suite also I’ve been messing around with hormones because I’m lacking in homeland and stuff I’ve been you know experimented with different things so I think that might have also affected my sleep sometimes people can get insomnia on a ketogenic diet which is the only reason that I mention it and I’ll leave a link to a another video arms off that will help you if you are having insomnia as well on a keep static diet and it might be to do with maybe your not having enough carbs because even though you are a little lower carb diet you some people still need a lot more tubs than you think they do and I am definitely one of them because I mean I just would just wouldn’t cut out my vegetables and my leafy greens I just couldn’t you know need no doubt is worth that for me because I know that I get so many nutrients and fiber which is needed for healthy digestion so you know a lot of people have problems on a ketogenic diet and it might be because they are not eating whole foods there nothing eating healthy foods there might be you can packaged foods or might be even too much dairy the dairy might be cardamon problem maybe they’re not having any leafy greens maybe they’re not having any bitches also hardly any vegetables so these are all problems that you know climate surface on the keep stirring it days and that’s why I don’t like to label myself as just any old ketogenic guys it’s a very very specific healthy keeps genic date that I’m following and I will leave a link around this video for
