MYFITNESSPAL | Best Fitness App 2019

what’s up everyone welcome back to my youtube channel so today I wanted to cover a very highly requested video and that is how to use the app MyFitnessPal [Music] how to count the calories and how to monitor your macros so in today’s example I’m going to be using the free version of My Fitness Pal you can download this app from Google Play Store or the Apple iTunes store so I’m going to show you guys how to set it up and everything you need to know in order to count your calories once you’ve downloaded My Fitness Pal we’re gonna open it up and I’m gonna show you exactly how you need to set it up first thing here I’ve already created my account I’m going to log and go to my goals with My Fitness Pal I really recommend that you don’t follow the calories that they get for your hair I’ve put on my way you can set a goal for whether you want to maintain weight lose weight or gain weight but often the calorie count is not correct care if I go to my diary you can see that this is in kilojoules what we want to do is switch this out to calories because as much as I would like to eat five thousand eight hundred calories I do not get two so we’re going to go two more we’re gonna scroll down to settings go to profile and we’re going to switch the units out so here I’ve got mine set to kilograms centimeters and kilometers and here I’m going to switch it to calories so of course if you’re in the US you can switch it to pounds or whatever you prefer so I’ve changed that to calories so when I import all my information into my fitness part and I selected that I wanted to lose weight it calculated my calories and we met crows way too low for what I personally should be having this is why I can’t stress it enough it is so important to get a customized meal and macro plan tailored to you your goals and your current shape so for me I have more muscle than that and I would like to be eating more than 70 grams of protein and I would never really dip below 1,400 calories just based on my height my weight and my daily activity for my own Chris as well as the macros and calories for the and Julie foot squad what I like to do is give them everything on their fit with and Julie app so this allows for flexibility throughout the day if they want to substitute foods or if they just want to track something fun to eat in that day so I’m going to show you how I personally use my foot with and Julie app in connection to My Fitness Pal my top two apps here I’ve got my fitness part and my foot and Julie app so I’m gonna open this one I’ve got an example of a low cutting day for me so I’ve got sixteen hundred and twenty-one calories remember that no one is the same and that we should all have different macros calculated to our goals so here I’ve got that I’m going to log into my smartness pal I’m gonna hit along two goals I’m going to set my color it and take out 1621 because I’m on the free version of My Fitness Pal I can’t adjust the exact brand so what I’m going to do is have a play around with the percentages just to adjust it and then I know that I’m just going to have these numbers throughout the day [Music] so here I’ve come up with 35% carbs 140 to 122 protein and 63 grams of fat that is very close to what as in my foot within Julie app so I’m going to save that and now we’re going to go to diary and I’m going to show you how to track certain foods for your day so the first recipe I’m going to show you how to track on my Fitness Pal is my all-time favorite french toast I’ve got all the ingredients ready to track right here okay so I’ve got my French toast recipe here and I’m just going to show you how to track all of the ingredients into MyFitnessPal so you know exactly how many calories you are eating and your meal here if you go to your diary on My Fitness Pal you can go to breakfast and click Add food the cool thing about my fitness art as it has this feature here to scan barcodes you’re going to click the scan feature you’re going to grab one of your ingredients I’ve got some bread here well I’m going to do is scan the barcode it has come up with two slices of bread I always eat the spread so know it’s accurate here it’s got the 203 calories it matches up with what the nutritional information on it says and I want to have four slices of bread so I’m going to have two of that 406 calories add it so yeah so I’ve just logged my bread the next thing I need to add is my egg there’s two ways you could do this you could search eggs and you could have two large eggs and just track those or if you have the brand what you can do again is just scan the barcode I’m just going to scan that I need two eggs ego so I’ve got two eggs there and then the next thing I’m going to add in as my almond milk just scanning everything so here you can see that the serving size wants to scan the barcode of the milk it’s 250 milliliters I only need 16 mils so what I’m going to do is click the serving size change the milliliters to one milliliter and change that for 16 milliliters there you go so here I’ve tracked my four slices of bread two eggs my almond milk and then to top this recipe I’m going to use some raspberries all I’m going to do again is like to just search frozen raspberries and here I could use a hundred grams of frozen raspberries or of course I could scan the barcode but here we have it I have 641 calories I’ve tracked all the food and wants my recipe and if I want to know the macros of this exact meal I can go down to nutrition and here I can see I’ve got 32 grams of protein I’ve got 90 grams of carbs 18 grams of fiber and 15 grams of fat side note for the squad when using my fitness power to track your calories of course brands all around the world are going to vary from the ones that I’m using here the bread that I use might have different calories to the bread that you use what you can do is adjust the portions of the amounts that you are using if I’ve given you four slices read your breads high calorie then you might need to use three slices when tracking on My Fitness Pal my calories that I have on the apps say that it should be 610 calories but once I add it all into My Fitness Pal it comes just 641 so all I’m going to do is adjust something very simply I will just half my raspberry portion so I’m going to have 50 grams of raspberries instead of 100 and then we have 606 calories total instead of 641 so now I fit that meal into my day using the brands that I enjoy and it works with my foot width and really plan [Music] when it comes to weigh out meat of course you can track think on my fitness part by searching them but something actually has the nutritional information here so my beef mince was 95 percent me and 5 percent fat so actually has all the correct information on the label so all I’m doing is a lightly browning the mince once that’s been brown a bit I’m going to add this burrito spice mix interruptor this one here’s got no artificial flavors or colors and it’s gluten free and again this has the macro information on the back but honestly the calories are so little and next to never track it [Music] they say now the mince is lightly browned I’m just going to add some seasoning to it so when it comes to seasonings a lot of people ask me what I use to flavor my meat and if you’re vegan of course for your plant-based protein sources such as tofu I use everything from soy sauce to a local teriyaki sauce to pick Himalayan rock salt these things like this it’s totally up to you to choose things that you like so that you can eat foods each and every day that you actually enjoy like this really has to be a lifestyle it can’t just be kind of eating bland foods for the rest of your life because life’s made to be enjoyed and we all like food sometimes I wish that I could just click my fingers and have all my pumpkin all diced up and ready to go so [Music] while my meal prep is cooking I thought I would talk you through how I track my meals on MyFitnessPal and we may do meal prep on a Sunday afternoon so the cool thing about my fitness part is it has this function here meals so if I go to meals I’m going to create a meal of beef pumpkin okay so all I’m here going to do a search count down the brand of the beef that I have basements here I’ve got the basements they use and each meal is 125 grams also going to add in pumpkin the pumpkin that I’m using is raw and here you can see it’s got a green tip so I know that this is a verified food on my fitness power I’m going to collect 100 grams and each meal I’m having as 170 grams of pumpkin add data and lastly I’ve got Cusco so I will scan the barcode so once again all I’m going to do is click this barcode scanner here flip the pack around scan and each meal that I’m having is 50 grams so that sorry setup I’m going to add that on and go back and so my whole meal is already tracked so I know that for my meal prep each meal is 52 grams of carbs 6.1 grams of fat and 35 grams of protein so put today’s lunch if I wanted to have that meal prep I would go add food I go up to my nails I click this and I would just add it and like that and it just gets added into my day of food so simple and so easy and then here I can see how many carbs I’ve had how much protein I have left how much fat I have left and just add in foods to fit so there’s so much flexibility when using MyFitnessPal like you know what I saw that I have some carbs and fats there if I want to have some Oreos again I’m gonna scroll down to snacks I’m going to scan the barcode scan that on three cookies it’s warned me that I was only allowed 142 grams of carbs I’ll scroll down and check my nutrition and I see that I’ve gone over in carbs so I might go back and I’ll say oh you know what I better just have one Oreo so I’m going to have one Oreo instead come back down check it again and look at that I’ve stayed under my cards I’ve still got lots of fat left and lots of protein left so I know that for moments when I want to portion it out I’ve already weighed it and I know that it is 500 grams so I’m going to a split up into four containers and each container is going to have 125 grams [Music] okay so this is a very simple meal crap that honestly takes only about ten minutes to do everything and it’s just so simple so I’ve got my ground-up beef I’ve got some whole milk cusco’s and then I’ve got some mashed up pumpkin I’m going to show you another cool feature of MyFitnessPal so that you two can do your meal prep at home and just make it as easy and simple as you can to step to your goals I’ve added my meal to My Fitness Pal all I’m going to do is click in here and I’m going to add photo so I can take a photo of the meal prep confirm it and now I know exactly what this meal is so I can save it and I can add it to say make dinner for tonight and there we go it’s all added in and I can stay on track while in includes enjoy and that is everything there is to know about My Fitness Pal I hope that this helped you if it does please remember to Like comment subscribe and smile
