and give you guys an update on how I am faring along coming along on my diet what’s working what’s not working what I’ve been through what I haven’t been through what I’ve noticed what I’ve discovered I want to share all that with you if you have any questions feel free to answer I’m asking and I will answer it if I have an answer to give you guys okay um let me make sure that I can it’s on here okay awesome that I’m able to say hello okay so alright so this is what’s going on so far I have been on keto now I think this is gonna be the fourth week I’m entering to the fourth week of my Kido journey and it’s been fantastic prior to me joining I was weighing 229 pounds which is a lot of weight for me it has been the heaviest that I have ever weighed in my entire life okay in my entire existence and being and so I am happy to report that from 229 I am down to 216 pounds that is 13 pounds right off light shave gosh I am just so happy I’m so excited um I jumped for joy when I stepped on the scale and I saw that the numbers went down to 216 pounds that means that my new way of eating my new lifestyle is work I still have not joined a gym I’m looking for seeing maybe today I’m gonna go in and sign up for gym because I feel that my body is now turning yes yes mommy Maxwell welcome it is awesome and my body now feels being on this keto when people were talking to me about your body’s gonna turn into this fat-burning machine I can feel it and the a minimal of movement that I do throughout the day because we think we don’t extra exercise but we do because our daily activity is also a form of exercise so whenever you’re cleaning mopping scrubbing whenever you’re walking up and down the stairs whenever you’re going grocery shopping and bringing up the bags laundry and all that stuff it is a big deal hi Erica yes I feel a change I’m down 13 pounds and so I feel my body is burning burning burning burning burning all of this fat because remember as I explained in my previous videos and my previous previous lives is that now you go from your body is going from using carbs to burn energy it’s using the fat and now I feel that and so I think it’s time I told my husband we have to either go for walks everyday or we’re gonna have to join a gym even if I just joined the gym just for the treadmill at first I am gonna do that and so I’m gonna I’m hoping to do it this week to go into the gym finally and just signing up and just going for it okay I really don’t have to join a gym because my daughter my oldest daughter she is um certified a certified Zumba instructor and she’s also all into hi Becky she is also all into being healthy and being fit and that is like her knee she’s like going in and she wants to take open up the studio and all that stuff so now I know I’m gonna be covered in the cardio aspect but this also means I have to be held accountable and I have to step foot for and just go in and begin to do this workout routine so that’s something that’s gonna be coming up look out for that so that you can see my journey whatever workout routine I decide to implement that’s really gonna bring down even more pounds okay so I lost 13 pounds already guys I’m just like yeah yeah I’m feeling so happy I’m just like oh my gosh because it was really depressing for me when I stepped on that scale and I saw 229 pounds I was just on the verge I was feeling so bad inside not because of how much it’s not only because of how much I weighed but because of everything that I was putting in my body was really making me sick people I’m telling you it was really making me sick ladies to the point that I was just nauseated all the time I was like inflammation was setting in I was having depression and anxiety I was always tired I didn’t have energy to do anything and so that was that’s not me that’s not me at all hi every day blessings how are you and so I started on this keto journey because I was looking I’ve been researching Hedo for over a year I initially tried and attempted to do the Weight Watchers which is a great program don’t get me wrong it works for a lot of people hi Barbara it just wasn’t really working for me because at the time I was the only one doing it and even though that’s not an excuse but it was just so hard to follow one lifestyle while your family is doing something else and my husband really wasn’t feeling the the Weight Watchers because he had a kind of like really journal everything that he was eating and he just was not into that and so finally I found I’ve been researching he-double for like a year and a half or so and I finally decided to take the plunge and so I told my husband because he was diagnosed with type-2 diabetes so I said no I need to do something that’s gonna him too and so I said let’s start doing this and you’re my husband is like over the my husband weighed in at 283 pounds he is now down to 268 oh my god yesterday when we were hugging each other we felt so weird cuz we you know there’s there was extra cushion that was missing from both of us so I was like on it kind of feels weird hugging you right now because you’re you know I’m missing some of you and it was just so funny but that is amazing results that is just amazing results and that is with no workout just say the activities that we do where we’re burning our fat but just imagine once we incorporate a routine that we’re working on and we’re working out together we’re gonna see even more dramatic results and so I wanted to share that with you all and then last last time I spoke with you I wanted to touch up on the dairy products now I have not completely done a dairy free keto but I try to as much as I can now I do use ghee butter and I use butter um because I have to keep my fat levels high okay and I use grass-fed butter I like to use more than get butter for my coffee because I drink the Kido coffee along with my MCT oil and so that is what gives me the boost this is why you keep seeing me taking a sip from my cup because I love to start off with this in the morning because if one is suppresses any hunger that I may have to it gives me that boost of energy and 3 it tastes good alright and so what is the keto coffee okay so the keto coffee is um just regular coffee any flavor that you would like you would use 8 ounces of the coffee 1 tablespoon of butter unsalted or the ghee butter I prefer the ghee butter and 1 tablespoon of MCT oil and then what you’re gonna do is you’re gonna put the butter and you’re gonna put the MCT oil in the coffee and you are going to use a handheld blender or you can put it in a regular blender to allow it to emulsify and it’s gonna look like you put cream and everything in it and you can also add into your sweetener I use the sweet leaf stevia but I’ve also purchased some monk fruit sugar which i’ve heard that is really good and keto friendly I haven’t made any recipes with it yet and I haven’t tried it I just picked it up yesterday but for now I did that and then what you do is you drink it and it gives you a rush of energy and like I said it suppresses your hunger throughout the day and it gives you a kickstart and your fat intake because in keto you have to have a high protein fats moderate protein and low carb thank you so much Tina I am trying girl I if you haven’t heard I lost 13 pounds already I started at 229 I am down to 216 girlfriend I’m like I can’t wait to get under 200 you don’t know when I get under 200 y’all I’m really gonna be hyper but um and so yes yes I lost 13 pounds in the four weeks that I have been doing this keto I have been eating awesome food if you haven’t been following me on Instagram or Facebook I have been doing some great salads my whole way of cooking has changed if you have followed me on my channel you know that I love to cook my thing is in the kitchen but it was also a challenge because of my culture because of my culture we eat a lot of bread and a lot of rice yes as if you get back mommy maxvill follow me here I would love to start like a little group on Facebook where we can support each other in our Aikido journey and share recipes and and really you need encouragement and you need motivation because you can easily fall off right now I’m on a nice level of ketosis where I know that my body is doing well there was a setback about two weeks ago we were really busy and I did have time to plan our meals for that day or for dinner anyway and so I told my husband well let’s go and get some chicken from there’s an Asian Chinese restaurant where we used to order for years which we know we were very careful with what we eat from Asian cuisine but we know that protein is okay the the chicken wings so we order some chicken wings never again because it made me so sick it really knocked me off of my feet I couldn’t get up I felt like I was uh it just made me feel so sick and it’s because of the oils that they probably used to uh you know prepare the food it wasn’t food poisoning it was just because I was eating so clean for like three weeks straight and finally that I ate that piece of mean it really did not sit well with me I had thank God I had activated activated charcoal on hand where I took two and in the morning I felt better but it was a realization that I even have to be careful what I order out from certain restaurants now because I don’t want to get sick like that um and that’s what was causing us to be sick throughout our lives all those years that we were consuming that food and not knowing it okay and so thank God I realize that and then I also realized that after restricting myself from certain foods like a lot of dairy and a lot of course the sugar I noticed that I’ve improved in a lot of areas the first area is my skin my skin I would um I thought that I had like eczema and its really what it wasn’t for me it was a lot of the food that I was ingesting that was causing my body to break out into rashes because ever since that I have eliminated those things I don’t have that anymore and I’m like oh my god and my skin is very sensitive so I need to be careful on the type of soaps and everything that I’ve used but I haven’t made any changes in that area only in what I was eating and my skin has been so amazing I’m like thank you right and then also like that nauseated feeling and stuff like that you see more energetic usually by eating clean like this do you hold on ah okay do you continue to eat this way or is this next phase of the keto diet well um I’m gonna continue to eat the way that I’m eating because I’m eating well I am now I am eating three meals a day and maybe sometimes a small snack which I never did before I’m so happy that you brought that up because before I started the keto lifestyle I would never have breakfast I would sometimes have lunch come home and I will make up for all that all the meals that I didn’t eat plus more which was very bad because we know that if you don’t feed the body it’s gonna store up the fat it’s not burning it because even when you do eat your eat I was eating the wrong foods okay I was eating a lot of processed and a lot of junk food to be honest with you and so I was eating very heavy and night and then in the morning because all of the junk that I was putting in my body I was feeling sick the next day literally I was really sick all the time and I was very becoming very groggy which is another thing that um I was having a lot of brain fog right now I’m very focused okay this is really who I was when I was in my 20s to be honest with you I was very focused very energetic very upbeat um and I was just in a state of fogginess it was hard for me to concentrate everything was making me feel frustrated and agitated because I was just always fatigued and it was just really hard how was the initial transition from when you were eating like the first week withdrawals etc so yes the first week I did suffer a lot of headaches which is it’s common in in the keto world because your body is adjusting the new diet and the new way that you’re gonna be eating so in the beginning I did have a lot of headaches I didn’t get the dakedo flu as intense as other people have to say that they have but prior to me starting Aikido I also did a sugar detox which I think kind of helped my process whereas my husband he did get the keto flu because he began to get um he was upset stomach he experienced diarrhea which is also big on the keto world because your body is changing but that the headaches for me lasted for about a week and then after that I didn’t have them anymore another thing that it improves okay this is also another setback and I’m I’m speaking to you ladies and I’m gonna be very honest because this is what this journey is all about initially when I started the keto my menstrual cycle came the I believe it was the second week that I started good upside to it as I had zero cramps where before I used to have massive crimes because of the amount of sugar that I was eating and in the previous live I explained how sugar can affect your menstrual cramps downside of the keto is because and this is just for women and I have researched it and researched it and researched it and everyone comes to the same consensus that it does mess with your menstrual cycle it can either cut it away completely in Korean it can cause amenorrhea or that you could be a bleed heavy until your body regulates and this may take a couple of months for me I am you know I’ve had it for a longer time for like two and a half weeks I’m waiting for it to go away but after researching it it says if this can happen with any diet not just a keto diet until your body regulates and understands that it’s there’s a change so I’m waiting for that change to happen but that would be the downside for it but I want to make that over any cramps at all because now I don’t have any cramps I don’t feel it and I’m happy about that um another thing is that my anxiety and my depression levels went down prior to be joining the keto lifestyle I was very depressed any little thing I just wanted to cry I wanted to just sit in the dark in my room I just wanted to be under the sheets there were times that I didn’t want to participate in anything okay and this is not good not only because I went through certain certain experiences however I believe that had a lot to do with what I was eating as well it was making me feel that to be in a depressed state that I didn’t want to be in and I was very unhappy with myself very unhappy right now my perspective has changed I’m like oh my gosh I just feel like a new me um it allowed me to make decisions it allowed me to make changes in my life that I needed to make and I needed to let go of because of the fog that I had and the depressed thing that I was in it was not allowing me to make certain decisions that kept me that kept also causing me to have those feelings someone hold on because in my phone here we go okay so Tina says that anxiety depression sounds like me ever since I had Dominic yeah and it can be a lot being that you had Dominic there could be a it could be a form of postpartum but it could also be your diet too I am a big believer now because of my experiences that when people say you are what you eat it’s true if you eat junk you’re totally gonna feel like junk say what I had no idea your videos never gave me an indication that you were going through the best praise god yes um yes I have because at one point depression is something an anxiety is something especially if you’re a believer and if you are a woman that is in ministry and if you are a woman who is a minister it is something that you don’t speak about because it just can’t happen if you are believer and so in in speaking about you having depression yeah it’s something we should talk about it more but because sometimes depression of seen as a taboo and within the church community instead of something that a person needs healing and freedom from that that’s why it’s not spoken about a lot but thank God that the Lord has opened doors for me I I received my Bachelor nth degree in psychology and I’m graduating this coming May with my master’s and counseling I’m understanding the mind more and understanding the body and of course serving the Lord we are humans that are created by a body mind and spirit and we have to take care of all three in order for us to be wholly healthy okay not wholly an H Oly but WH o ly we have to take care of our whole being and allow the Lord to lead us in those areas and depression can really set in if you don’t have anyone to talk to about it what happens is you begin to put on a mask that everything is okay when it’s not and so because now I have a new perspective and I feel better and I feel more confident in Who I am and who’s I belong to then I have the boldness to talk about this depression that I suffered because of it if it’s if it’s gonna help someone else who is in that state then I’m gonna talk about it because that’s my responsibility to do that and to encourage you that you’re not alone because depression can come in all different types of forms and what happens is because we are going through this at home and we have overwhelming things at home overwhelming things that work overwhelming things in church just all the overwhelming things that we have to deal with that leads us to find and release in addictions or advices and food can also be you can be a food addict and that’s what I was then is to be honest I was a food addict whenever I stressed I would run to food I would run to sugar I would run to whatever was gonna calm see for me to self-medicate and taking my way taking my mind away from whatever I had to deal with so some people run to drugs like they will run to alcohol cigarettes they will run to cocaine and heroin I would run to food and statistics show that sugar has the same drug addiction effects such as cocaine or even heroin because when you are detoxing from sugar you feel it I’m telling you you feel if you were to ingest the amount of sugar that I was taking getting off of it not only would your body be in shock because it misses it you also get sick okay and I experienced that and thank God I’m no longer I mean I would have 12 sugars with my coffee this size 12 sugars and sometimes I would drink two or three cups a day so that’s about 36 tablespoons of sugar people not those little pack I’m talking about spoons okay zero sugar now zero sugar and my coffee and I that’s a big huge step and so I was just happy that I no longer feel fatigued I don’t want to have the brain fog my weight I’m losing my weight it is just amazing okay so it is not just the keto but it is also you’re disciplining yourself and staying focused letting go of the excuses that’s the first thing that you have to do is letting go of the excuses amen yes Tina I hope that you try it out you know it may not be for everyone but find something that is going to work for you okay every day blessing says exactly I love Jesus I have faith and yes struggle with anxiety and cling to Jesus that without shame yes and being able to speak about it and being able to share that depression with others because what happens is depression is real okay it is real and I believe that the enemy will use that depression to isolate you from people who truly love you and want the best for you and he is gonna isolate you whenever someone is gonna try to help you but try to pull you out of that dark place that depression can take you depression there’s different levels of depression I’m not talking about clinical depression I did not have that but I did suffer from a form of depression okay and that is serious because if not treated if not spoken about it can lead to bigger things Tina says oMG that is 100% me that’s what I needed to hear today come on ah I just want to hug you because you get it amen yes I get it because I’ve been there I’ve been there and this is why so it is so important that whenever you decide to do a dramatic life change such as even changing your diet that you get the boldness and you share and you speak about it because there’s so many of us that feel this way and it’s hard when you don’t have people to talk to see you can have a good family dynamic you can have a good family support system however when it comes to depression you can feel alone even though you have those people because that is how the mind works and the enemy feeds off that and continues to lie to you and continues to say they don’t care they don’t want to hear about that why are you gonna ruin their day why are you gonna bring this up and they tree tries to isolate you so that you don’t break out of it but remember that Jesus is always there with you and remember that you can be pulled out of that and the only way that one of the ways that you can do it is right through prayer and by reading the Word of God and also and what you put into your body you have to be conscious of that because those type of food is gonna make you feel okay there’s different ways of finding ways to be proactive with certain stressors and triggers in your life first you have to identify them and I’ve spoken about this in previous videos and identifying your triggers identifying your stressors and finding a healthy way to combat those things don’t run to something else that’s gonna cause you and bring you harm and I was running to food and I’m happy that now food doesn’t dominate me I dominate food okay I eat because I needed to survive however food is not in charge of me okay I eat when I’m hungry and I don’t overeat just because the food is there okay so we need to be careful and now I can go to the movie theater and I don’t even eat popcorn I don’t I don’t desire it I don’t have any of the soda pop I just have my water why because prior going prior to going to the theater I ate a well-balanced meal that’s gonna sit well with me I’m not hungry so there’s no need for me to chew on anything okay there’s no need and another thing that I wanted to share with you about more than I’m gonna say close to 20 or so years I used to smoke I used to be a us I used to smoke cigarettes and so when I stopped smoking I exchanged the cigarettes for food because they would say well whenever you have the desire to smoke eat a piece of candy well that’s exchanging one thing for another and then it just began to snowball because who would ever think that you can ever be addicted to food no one because it’s food there’s nothing wrong with it your units not making you um inebriated you’re not high or anything like that it’s just food but there is something that can result from eating the wrong food and it is called obesity and this is one of the most leading causes of death in our nation it leads to diabetes it leads to heart disease cholesterol levels are over the rules tenshun all of these things and then what happens you have to be on medication which will work for the hypertension but that medication is so strong it can begin to cause a defect in another area in your body why because instead of letting go of the things that you’re eating you prefer to just mask it with prescription medication which will also affect your mind and cause you to do all these other type of stuff so to avoid that start by changing your diet and work at it and don’t give up and whenever that you feel like giving up connect to someone who can understand where you’re coming from they’re not gonna judge you they’re not gonna be critical of you they’re gonna be supportive they’re gonna cheer you on they’re gonna let you know when you’re doing something wrong but at the same time they’re gonna love you and they’re gonna help you so that you can reach your weight-loss goals you can do it I’ve been doing it and if you fall off the wagon you fall off the wagon you get back up and you start again learn from why you fell off the wagon and learn from that moving forward last year I was here presenting all about Weight Watchers and how I wanted to lose the same amount of weight that I’m on the goal now last year I started at 227 and instead of me losing weight I gained two extra pounds here I found something that works something that my husband and I are doing together and we’re seeing results and it’s working for us and I love it I mean what else can you ask for right and so the next time that I come on live excuse me I want to share with you intermittent fasting and how that goes hand-in-hand with Kido there’s a formula on how to do it and I believe that this is something that is so awesome it is so fantastic for you to do and excuse me and you would use it with your spiritual life as well because while you’re doing the interment and fasting you can also connect with the Lord and just seek His guidance because you’re at this place that your mind is so clear that static that once stopped you from listening to the voice of God and listening in for his will you are now so focused that now your your spiritual life is gonna become even greater okay it’s gonna become even greater you’re gonna go into that next level of intimacy with God because now your mind is focused to him and you don’t have to worry about those things and now you’re fasting and then at the same time you’re also dieting so um I cannot wait Barbara yes document all those things I am just so thankful for God for giving me the strength and giving me the courage because this is something that’s not easy it’s not easy for a woman to come on the YouTube world and reveal their weight when they’re not comfortable with their weight themselves um your body you know looking at myself and I still have a lot of work because I still have a pouch and my in my midsection that I really want to get rid of but I know that it’s going to come and it’s gonna take time it is a process and right now I am just embracing the process I’m loving the process because through going through the process I’m also gonna see progress this way in in finding a lifestyle that works I think that taking care of yourself is one of the hardest things to do because we’re good at taking care of everyone else we’re good at taking care of our husbands we’re good at taking care of our children we’re good at taking care of our homes we’re good at making sure that all the bills are paid but when it comes to us we neglect us so much and I you know because I guess that guilt-trip comes on that if I take care of myself and that means I’m putting myself first I’m not putting my kids know that’s not true you have to take care of you because if you don’t take care of you there’s not gonna be any left of you to take care of anyone else yes and we can’t neglect ourselves we can’t and I I’m also working on a self-care plan of action I’m working on it it’s gonna take a few weeks for me to put all the Kings together and I am gonna be sharing those things on how to form a formulate a plan for you to take care of you and it starts with you and God you have to ask you have to ask God for these things is knowing how to pray specific prayers Lord I need time to take care of the body that you have blessed me with I need time to take care of me so that I can have the strength to serve in the areas that you need me to serve and and and to serve my family and to serve them well God is gonna be all for it and he’s gonna open that door for you because he wants you to take responsibility for the damage that you are causing your body I’ve taken its accountability for it I’ve acknowledged it I asked Lord to forgive me because that is also a form of sin for you know attacking about my body the way that I did I said Lord forgive me help me just to take better care of your temple help me to clean out this temple so that your spirit can work better better through me so that I can be a better healthy vessel for you amen and that’s how you have to see it and you have to ask God to give you the strength and he will he will I am so glad that we have connected sue Barbara and I cannot wait and so I will be sometime I’m gonna come on guys maybe either on a Tuesday or Thursday and I’ll share another update I’ll share if not the work that’s in front of you your biggest challenge is not your family members your biggest challenge is not your children your biggest challenge is you and when you stand in the mirror and you to 216 so that’s 13 pounds since I started so I cannot wait hopefully by the next time that I share with you my next update I should be in the gym it all depends on the sign up how much it costs and all that stuff because this weekend I’m taking me as a kickboxing and so we’re gonna have a free class yes I can’t believe it Claudia was praising the Lord and so this Saturday Mia is gonna be doing a free demonstration for kick boxing lessons and so that is also going to be another thing that’s coming out of our budget um so I want to make sure that I get her locked in there first and then if the signup is not expensive then I will definitely sign up you go Claudia you keep going she since she started with a me here eight pounds that is amazing it is amazing so let’s do this we can do this you’re not alone if you feeling that depression check your diet start taking away a lot of the process and a lot of the sugar and some dairy see how it works how your body begins to feel after a week or two of not taking that stuff and you’re gonna see a big and a world of difference okay my chat is lagging and kids are fighting gotta go break it up okay dear thank you for tuning in Tina I’m gonna
