Keto Diet Update – 82.7kg (182 Pounds)


Karen and I thought I would come and give you an update on where I’m at with Quito because I haven’t been doing great but I’ve not been doing awful and I know you guys are interested in making updates what I’ll try and do is put my weight in the title of these videos but it’s kind of ironic because on my the channel that is now a message in Turin her dog that used to just be of a vlog channel I used to call it mrs. ginger and mrs. gingers life and I used to put weight loss videos up on there years ago and it was like two stone lighter than I am now but even then you know I was doing great with my weight loss and then all of sudden it just stopped and I didn’t care about it and that’s it’s often the way is for me it’s it’s about motivation it’s finding the motivation to stick to something now the keto diet is something that I must stop calling it diet because the keto way of eating is something that for the first time ever I feel like I could get on board with but the only slight problem with it is that there are still things that I miss eating that you list that I haven’t found a replacement for most of the things I found a way of having them and we’re trying a couple more things this week but for example pasta now we’ve only in whole-wheat pasta for years but I really like spaghetti bolognaise and pasta and I cannot find a substitute for it and I would be happy to have the vegetarian mince but that’s got more carbs and more protein more carbs in it but it’s just the pasta that’s the problem I’ve tried the courgette C and I didn’t like it at all is itcool just a yeah it’s either called called st or something else cuz you guys call courgettes in the USA you call em tsukimi i think don’t you so it’s it’s something of that anyway I tried it with spaghetti bolognaise and it was horrible with the homemade keto spaghetti bolognaise not very nice at all so I haven’t found a replacement for that the other thing is watermelon I’m obsessed with watermelon I love it I find it really refreshing and you know you just get that horrible taste in your mouth just to have some watermelon always satisfies me and and actually if I’ve got a horrible taste in my mouth I have watermelon or ice cream depending on if I was good or you know being good or bad when I was in more carbs and I haven’t found any substitute for an ice cream especially like I said when we’re out and about walking with what sir I think that’s really the only things that I actually miss so it’s been two weeks since I last did that video and I think when I I finished my week of carbs and weighed myself I was eighty two points something kilos where is that the week before I had started at 84 by I’d gone right down to at 79 or 80 I definitely lost no eighty I think I’d lost four kilos had an eye and then I put two back on or nearly three back on after eight in a week of carbs so the last time I spoke to you two weeks ago I was eighty two point something since then I have lost a kilo per kilo record I do want to say though I don’t believe that going back to carbs makes you put on weight going back to eating badly makes you put on weight because after I thought about my testing phase where I compared a week on keto versus a week on carbs it wasn’t really a fair fight because it was a week on keto in my normal daily routine which is much healthier than being on holiday in the week on carbs was when I was on holiday when I was having desserts and ice creams and you know things that I would not normally eat a holiday for me is about more food it definitely is is about not worrying about calories or whatever and so it wasn’t really a fair comparison and and also I didn’t put all of the weight back on so I think that’s really a really positive thing about keto that you can lose the weight and you’re not instantly gonna put it back on if you go back to carbs you will if you go back to bad eating but you won’t necessarily put all of it back on if that makes any sense so that’s a really positive thing I said when I came back I was going to be more focused on the keto so for the first week that I was back I did do keto to the Monday to the Friday and I didn’t record any of my macros I didn’t you know put everything into the little carb manager that some people use because I just would really prefer it if I didn’t have to note down every single carb that I I would like it if I can use my ketone test strips because I need to go to the bathroom anyway and test if I’m in ketosis and kind of just learn for my own self what I can eat and what I can’t and how many how much protein I can have how many carbs I can eat rather than having to record it all every day and so that’s what I did for that week and I lost a kilo which isn’t much and I did think at the time right I would obviously lose much more when I’m recording it because that week where I lost 4 kilos I was recording everything and it you then add in things that you’ve perhaps forgotten about and you know it’s much more accurate so I lost that kilo but then on the Saturday we were going out to dinner keV and I were taken out both sets of parents out for dinner and I knew that we’ll go into a pub we were taking what some with us and that the menu was not something that you could be keto on or it would be very difficult to there was a lasagne there was a chicken curry which you know I suppose you could ask for it without the rice but I wouldn’t make chicken curry on its own there was a steak and kidney pie with chips fish and chips fishing batter I suppose you could have taken the fish out just eating the fish but that it’s just not my style and so because you’re breaking keto in the evening there’s no point having keto the rest of the day there was no point having cream in my coffee and you know that kind of thing because then you just eat in a bad diet if you then eat carbs carbs because you knock yourself out of ketosis and the body will burn those carbs and all the fat you’ve eaten will just stay in your body so on that Saturday I switched to carbs and I actually found that really nice then I I stayed having carbs on the Sunday as well because I hadn’t had the time to plan what we were eating in to go shopping for things I need needed to eat keto so I think I woke up and had my old type of shake which is still a protein shake but there’s more cards than you would want in it I think there’s about eight or nine carbs in it and so I had I did carbs the Saturday Sunday and like I said it actually worked out really well for me because I thought right ok to do that I’m going to have some watermelon and you know the things that I miss I’m gonna have at the weekend and I think we had the spaghetti bolognaise on the Sunday I went back to Quito last Monday so that’s week two since I’ve spoken to you and started off the week a kilo less but I’ve actually put that on but that’s because I was really naughty last week I think because it was a bit of a stressful week I think it was a hospital appointment and then also nearly getting bitten that would do it for you and so what happened was I started off with all good intentions on the Monday and the Monday went fine Tuesday I had so many different last we had so many different appointments and I’ve taken on this new job that I think my video about this new job is on new business is on patcher on my patreon channel but I’m basically visiting dogs at home and the idea was that it was to be puppies or elderly dogs that couldn’t go on big group walks or patients ie dogs I’ve had operations and things in her own crate rest and I could go around and do it richer with them but long story short I’ve ended up visiting this rescue dog who bless her is extremely nervous of anybody in her home she’s also scared of dogs so she can’t go with a walker I mean a big group walks and the idea is eventually I’ll get her trust and be able to go out for a walk with her so I had that at lunchtime every day I had appointments before and after the lunchtime thing by their health appointments for me or vet appointments for Watson I’m choosy I had a urology appointment which was just ridiculous and I’m going to do a separate video updating you on that situation and what did I do I bought I had had before I left the house I made myself since turkey bacon with a bit of cheese I basically had two slices of turkey bacon and a bit of cheese in the middle and it was delicious but it was it that or did I have one of those and whatever I had whatever I ate was keto and it did not fill me up but I was in the hospital I had my appointment I was there for a long time and I wanted something to eat and I just thought what can i buy the only place here is the little newsagent what can i buy and I was really really wanting a chocolate bar so I bought an eight a chocolate bar so I knew that I had buggered it for that day and like I said the problem with the keto diet is you have to be a hundred percent committed because if I had a bar of chocolate on a day where I was eating carbs I would have been eating healthy if you like and the bar of chocolate wouldn’t be great but it wouldn’t be as disastrous as it is when you’re on keto because I’ve already had high fat foods that day cream you know I’d had a lot of fat because that’s the point once you then eat something like that you have kind of messed things up so that was the Tuesday the Wednesday I can’t remember I think I was fine on the Wednesday then on the Thursday I had my cardiology appointment which I don’t think there’s a whole video in that basically thankfully I don’t have any large top but they have got an irregular beat I already have an irregular beat it had an extra beat and they’ve now said that you said that it gave me a name but I remember it was that my heartbeat is out of sync and so he wants to put I’ve got to have a 24-hour monitor and then he wants for some kind of implant in my chest that we’ll call a reveal that will reveal something and wear it for I don’t know I guess a month or something and that was quite stressful but I arrived very early for the appointment and again I was hungry and the shop was right there I was looking around the shops I wanted a notepad and I ended up buying another chocolate bar so that was Thursday Friday I went to visit my dogs I talked about and nearly got bitten and actually as I pulled my hands away when she snapped I I hit my finger on the wall and it was all this finger here don’t think it’s gone down now but it was bruised and swollen but it just gave me such a shock you know and it was totally my fault because she gave me all the signals that she needed to to say you know you’re moving too fast I shouldn’t I was trying to clip a lead on that I felt like I felt like I’d let her down felt like I’d let the dog down because when I watched the video back I happened to be filming it for the owners because we were talking about her progress etc and I felt like I’d let her down because when I watched she was low growling I thought she was silent and I had said good girl I thought she’d stopped growling but it was actually it’s she was still growling but it was low growling she was looking at me out of the side of her eyes that you could see the whites that was another sign and you know to think to go to put the lid on I would have to go behind her head I just I felt like I’d let her down and I felt like oh I’m not going to be good at this cuz I was starting to think about being a trainer I’ve always thought about being a dog trainer I just thought can I do it can I not and I felt like I’d really let myself down I’d let her down etcetera etcetera and when that happens to me I comfy so I went and got ice cream from Tesco the other thing about it is when I see this dog there’s no parking outside our house I have to park in the Kisco car park which is just a few minutes from the door but that is fatal for me because I’m literally walking past the door of Tesco’s and so I was like yeah I’m gonna go and get an ice cream so did I went and had an ice cream I enjoyed every second of it but it really messed up the week you know so it meant that once I do that as well I’m surprised that I stuck to keto on the Thursday Friday after my slip on the twos D because normally I go right that’s it I’ll start again next Monday and actually I didn’t better to do that because I wasn’t obviously in the right mindset like I said eating keto and then slipping up like that is worse than eating carbs and then slipping up like that because you’re eating too much fat so I wasn’t surprised at all I put on a kilo what I’m surprised I didn’t put on more the weekend I was I knew I wasn’t going to make itto because I was going to York meeting my mom in New York we’d be drinking tea and coffee all day I couldn’t take enough milk with me to cover those coffees and we always have a cake it’s what we do and you know we’re going out for lunch etc etc so I wake myself again this morning and I am 82.7 I think whatever I am I put it in the title of this video so overall I’m okay because I still lost two kilos you know I was 84 kilos and I’m now eighty two point something kilo so maybe one and a half kilos I’ve lost but I know I’m really happy without considering how bad I’ve been if you like how bad I’ve been how I’ve not stuck to it I’ve not apart from one week I’ve not really you know recorded what I’m eating or watched how many protein grams are meeting or how many carbohydrates I’m eating and so I have started today fresh and this week Monday to Friday I will be Peto 100% and I always said to you guys that I thought I was going to be doing keto cycling as it’s called which is you can do keto Monday to Friday and have the weekend carbs or you can do three weeks keto cycling and then one week carbs and only because I’m with my cell phone my friend or going to a dog show on Saturday and I’m really looking forward to that and I cannot think what I could take for lunch I don’t really want to have to make my lunch to take with me it just it just would be much easier for me to not be keto on Saturday and I will buy some watermelon and have that and you know it just it suits me fine so I’ll see how I get on this week with doing Monday to Friday keto hopefully 100% hopefully I’m more focus this week and Saturday carbs and I’m not sure about Sunday offense how much time I’ve got left on Saturday to do the planning and cooking planning and shopping sorry for the Sunday that was a long old video just to tell you that I’m the same way pretty much but I know that a lot of you were interested and are interested in my progress and I just wasn’t sure how interesting it would be to to be coming and telling you that oh well I’m not putting anything on I’ve not lost any and I’ve done it a bit and I’m not you know I could I can be really flaky I can’t so we’ll see how I get on but I will try and come and update you next week and tell you how how it’s gone I also want to do a video on kind of my keto favorites or I don’t know whether to call it keto favorites of keto replacements cuz a lot of the things that our favorites are like steak and chips chips which I have from celeriac and things that are replacing the foods that I loved before um slimming world my mum has success of slimming well because I was telling her about this when we were in York and she was saying that she if she does any plan at all it would be slimming world I think
