Keto Diet Snacks UK: my go to snacks!


hi I’m John welcome back to the contemplative commuter so today’s video and dr. Berg if you watch any of his videos will kill me for this but I’m gonna go through my go-to keto snacks why do I say dr. Berg will kill me well because he believes you should not snack at all generally and but I’m a human being I like to have a few snacks if I’m watching a movie or fulfilled bit peckish during the day so what do I go – as my standard snacks so first and foremost notes and to be a bit more specific whole notes not processed in any way not salted not roasted not a nut butter but just plain whole nuts my two favorites are pecans and walnuts and if we look at some of the carb count around this for a nice handful serving around 30 grams you’re only looking at 1.1 grams of total carbohydrates for the walnuts and for the pecans 1.6 grams of carbohydrates the only thing I’d say on this is they are a little bit more –is– and it’s really easy to overeat them which obviously ramps up your calorific intake I mean a fat macros on them are gray but I just be a little bit mindful of the serving size so there’s a top tip next on my list and you can combine this with the notes is Roquefort cheese now personally I’ve massively been cutting down on dairy in my keto diet so basically anything white that comes out of a cow that sounds disgusting but anything milk or cream base from a cow I just don’t eat anymore and I’ve gone over to goat’s cheese and the unpasteurized blue goat cheese which puts me at rockfall I think this is the healthiest choice a hundred grams of this so nearly the whole packet of this calorie wise really high because it will be about three hundred and sixty nine calories for a hundred grams but again only a gram of carbohydrates goes really nice on a salad really nice with the nuts but yeah so look like Ito snack next one and I love these whether I put them on salads or have them as a snap but pitted green whole olives you can see how much I love them because I go for these absolutely massive jars again if we look at a per 100 gram serving if you were to eat that much 200 calories but only a gram of total carbohydrates and a hundred grams what I’d recommend as well is really look at the label on your olives because sometimes what they are sort of suspended in these are in brine so it’s just a water and vinegar solution but if you look at some of them are being sunflower oil and sugars and I really keep an eye out for hidden sugars but this these just pickled in brine or put into Brian whatever you want to call it they’re absolutely delicious like said it’s a lovely snack or goes great on salads as the nuts and cheese of course now this one I don’t know if American viewers have these I’m sure they do but this I always thought my next snack I’ve only just got into these and I was always a little bit of put by them because when I used to go to fish and chip shops if you looked at the the shelves behind the guys who were cooking there would always be a jar of pickled eggs and they always looked disgusting and the other day I thought well do you know what I’m gonna give try to love eggs though there are perfect keto food and I thought you know what these ones from Garner’s they’re just distilled in malt vinegar I’m so lazy I can’t even be bothered to boil an egg so is a snack with a little bit of salt and pepper and the vinegar they are absolutely delicious so my old first glance seemed a little bit disgusting pickled eggs but they are a perfect perfect keto snack and again looking at the carbohydrate content if you would have a hundred grams of the eighths I don’t know how many eggs that is but again it don’t be a gram of carbohydrate at all but yeah a nice little snack again you could stick them on salads if you want so there are my go-to keto snacks nothing meat based there as well super healthy super healthy regards to their fats as well so no trans fats they’re really healthy fats really good for you the only thing to be mindful of on any snacks is the quantity of the serving but yeah if you’re watching a movie or you’re a bit peckish that’s what I’d recommend and go for your keto diet so on that if you found this video helpful a lot a couple of links up wherever in the screen to my my other videos please comment like share subscribe and as I always say I’ve got a passion to help people live longer look better feel better and I want to use this channel to build a community around that so if you’ve got any suggestions of kind of content I should be delivering anything you want to ask me stick it in the comments box but yeah be great to see you next time
