Intermittent fasting for women | Should You Fast? | Ashley Salvatori

[Music] hi guys my name is Ashley Salvatori from my coach Ashley calm and today I want to talk to you about the effects of intermittent fasting for women and how you may want to adjust your in a minute fasting lifestyle [Music] thank you guys so much for subscribing to my channel and for following me today’s topic is a good one so women and fasting here is the deal women are way more sensitive than men to the hormones that can be effected through intermittent fasting now here’s the thing you really want to be able to feel your body’s changes that are happening while you are fasting so here’s one thing if you are hungry then you should eat so don’t try to force intermittent fasting on yourself if you’re hungry that is your body’s signal that you need to eat and so that is one way that you can definitely protect yourself from having any sort of hormonal issues with fasting and so that’s the big one so if you’re hungry you definitely should eat women are far more sensitive to the hunger hormone ghrelin and so once that hunger hormone ghrelin if when you go like a few days fasted in the morning all of a sudden your body is gonna get the hint it’s not going to be producing ghrelin at the same time that you would normally eat breakfast and so eventually it’ll push it back push it back so you won’t be hungry until the afternoon so the thing is though you want to make sure that you’re not fasting every day you probably should stick to like three to five days a week of fasting that is the most healthy way to do it as a female without having to worry really about impacting your hormones there are some signs if really you should pull back on the fasting or if you should fast less if you notice that you are always cold or you’re really really moody that’s a sign that your thyroid hormone are not really balanced with this whole new lifestyle of intermittent fasting so you should pull back on intermittent fasting a little bit there are so many incredible benefits to fasting from allowing your body to really start healing itself from the inside out but do not try to force this on yourself and if it doesn’t feel right to you then don’t do it that is the bottom line but if you’re going for it and you want to try it maybe two days a week three days a week I will say the longer you do it the easier it becomes your body just naturally gets used to not eating until a certain hour so you’re not gonna be as hungry until like if you’re eating at noon every day but just just be aware of your body if all of a sudden you wake up one day and you were planning on fasting but you’re hungry listen to your body and eat it’s not the end of the world honestly it’s really not and if you fast a couple days a week that will be enough to be able to notice the benefits of the intermittent fasting if you can do it longer and you don’t notice those other side-effects then you are good to go if you don’t feel cold if you don’t feel Moody if you aren’t hungry and you are able to go until I can do like a sixteen eight hour fast think vote for it if that feels good to you the big thing is just finding what feels right to you of course when you first start in am in fasting you’re going to be hungry initially because it’s new and you’re not used to that so maybe try to push through that initially after that I would start really just listening to your body [Music]
