let’s talk about the physical science that signal you’re in ketosis vaquita flu the main symptom of transitioning taquito is experiencing the keto flu if you’re not taking specific steps to avoid it the keto flu results in general feelings of fatigue weakness are generally feeling icky the keto flu occurs as your body learns to switch to ketosis on the other side of the keto flu are some amazing benefits so if you’re experiencing symptoms as you watch this hang in there you’re going to be glad that you did before we get into those benefits let’s talk about a few more signs you’re heading into ketosis weight loss the first week or two of eating hito you will likely notice rapid weight loss this is due to stored fluid being shed as your glycogen stores are depleted however you should continue to lose fat as long as you stick to your keto diet digestive issues as a result of a big change you’ve made to your diet it’s logical to expect your digestive system to put up a bit of a fight constipation and diarrhea are common side effects in the first few weeks of keto these go away with time in the meantime you can supplement fiber with an option like acacia powder or psyllium husks and make sure that you’re eating plenty of healthy low-carb veggies such as broccoli celery or Brussels sprouts I’ll link to a few fiber supplements I’ve used and like in the description below sleep disturbances many people report insomnia is a symptom when they transition to ketosis this generally improves after a few weeks and is replaced by better quality sleep than before you start at a ketogenic diet bad breath have you ever heard of Kido breath many people suffer from the smell of acetone in their breath once they reach a state of ketosis some say that their breath takes on a fruity or maple syrup type smell this is due to the acetone in the breath and acetone is simply a byproduct of the production of ketones in your body in fact you’ll notice that your urine and sweat also smells bad I notice all of these for the keto breath i combat it by adding Young Living vitality essential oils to my water my favorite right now is spearmint it keeps my breath fresh and makes my water taste amazing if you want to know more about this send me an email or direct message on social media my contact information isn’t in the description below if you experienced this Kido breath know that you’ve made it to ketosis now for the stinky sweat I put on Young Living peppermint essential oil prior to my workout and this does more than just cover up smelliness it also helps me feel energetic and give a hundred and ten percent of my workout studies have shown about an increase of 10% simply by smelling peppermint essential oil prior to a workout decrease and in performance during the transition phase you will notice a decrease in your performance you won’t be able to workout as long or as hard this is a good time to focus on your flexibility and myofascial release once you have transitions into ketosis you’ll regain your performance even better there’s a study out there that showed athletes who had switched over to a ketogenic diet burned as much as 230 percent more fat when they exercised a link to this study is in the description in fact more and more endurance athletes are using Kido to tap into their fat stores to be able to increase performance this adaptation takes about 12 weeks according to the studies I found I mentioned I was going to talk about the benefits of ketosis so what are these the ketogenic diet tends to significantly reduce hunger if you’re feeling full for longer periods of time and forgetting to eat this could be a sign you’re in ketosis increased energy and focus on the other side of the keto flu is an increase in energy and focus ketones are a great source of fuel for the brain in fact ketones are being studied for their brain health benefits focus and energy tends to increase the longer you’re on a ketogenic diet so if you don’t experience this right away be patient it will come once your body is fat adapted which is the term we used to say our body has fully adapted to burning fat as fuel I really hope this video has
