How I lost over 135 pounds in 6 months with Keto

you what’s up guys Kira got here touch base with you guys we are finally at the six-month mark it’s been a few days if you guys follow me on instagram you’ll know I was just moving into a new house so I’ve been super busy with that getting everything set up in the new house but I did want to make this six-month video update you guys when I started keto I started the Monday after Thanksgiving so that was November 28th and I was 430 pounds when I started out I wanted to be as aggressive as possible and I wanted to to really set my goals to be hard to obtain so that I would stay motivated and not get complacent I decided I wanted to lose 100 pounds in 3 months well on February 28th at the end of three months I was exactly 100 pounds down I was 330 pounds and my second goal which I’d still set back in November was to lose 150 pounds in six months now six months happened to fall on Memorial Day that’s May 29th so I knew that that was going to be difficult as of May 29th I was down to 292 pounds so I didn’t hit 150 pound goal but you know I’m obviously completely happy with my results it is 138 pounds down in just six months now when I started out you know I was just trying to lose enough weight to to start feeling better you know that was my main goal is to lose weight get healthier get my blood pressure in check get my cholesterol checked get my health in check once the weight started to fall off it really became a focus for me and important for me to lose the weight and to maintain muscle you know I didn’t want to come out of this just being skinny fat or being skinny at all I wanted to come out of this looking the way I wanted to look so you know at that hundred pound mark especially you know after about a couple months I decided I really wanted hit the gym part of my protein a little bit stay in Quito and and maintain as much lean muscle mass as possible so that’s the reason for a little bit of the slowdown plus obviously as you get closer to your goal weight you know that way it’s going to slow down you know in April I lost about 12 pounds total for the month which is still a great month and then in May granted it wasn’t a full month but in May up until May 29th I lost seven pounds so it’s almost 2 pounds per week which is still a great great loss you know I’m certainly never going to complain about a 1 or 2 pound per week loss so you know I’m definitely happy with the way things are trending now to do with the results as far as the maintaining muscle goes in the last couple months I’ve actually been able to start increasing my lips again I start seeing the gains in the weight room so you know it’s certainly possible to lose weight and to maintain muscle mass that’s the great thing about keto is it is a muscle sparing diet you know you’re eating a decent amount of protein you’re burning fat for your energy you know your body your body isn’t going to be you know consuming a massive amount of your lean muscle mass as long as you’re doing the diet right now I’m not going to sit here and preach about you know starting off really slow and and making sure that you they are not losing too fast because you’re going to lose muscle mass that’s true but I think that when you’re morbidly obese and when you have a ton of weight to lose you know I think that it’s more important to to see those results stay motivated stay happy because as long as you’re eating enough protein to not be doing damage to your organs then you’re probably going to be okay you know that’s kind of how I approach to dine especially early on I knew that I needed to see big losses and I knew that without seeing those big losses I was going to have hard time staying motivated staying so you know I didn’t mind if I lost a little bit of lean muscle mass in them in the beginning so you know my my recommendation to people is always you know figure where your goals are when your goal frame is and then you know as far as time frame goes and then attack those goals specifically for yourself if your goal is to lose you know just you know 15 pounds or something over the next couple months then by all means make sure you’re doing is slow doing it right maintaining that lean muscle mass but if you’re morbidly obese and you need to lose a hundred pounds 200 pounds then I would say you know attack the diet a little differently try and get to a weight where you’re comfortable working out because I know for me I wasn’t comfortable working out at 4:30 you know I started walking you know and I went to the waiting room after a couple weeks and I would do short half-hour workouts you know enough and I would be sore and I would be hurting the next day from that and then over the course of the next couple months those workouts turned into 45 minutes turned into an hour turn into an hour and a half workouts just about what I do now you know about an hour and a half a day four days a week in the gym and then if I want to cardial on top of that I can you know and I did a lot of cardio I did couch to 5k I did that for the first couple months and that was really rewarding so I would definitely say to start off slow get to a weight where you you’re going to feel comfortable and then worry about how you’re going to look once you start getting a little closer you know obviously you don’t want to wait till the end you don’t want to turn out looking you know being unhappy with the way you look so you know that’s my results as you guys seen my pictures I feel like I have maintained a lot of that you know the keto diet has been great for me you know I’ve had a lot of people reach out to me and ask me for advice you know I’m not trying to push the keto diet on anyone for me personally the calorie counting diet didn’t work for me I spent a year as yo-yo dieting you know gaining weight losing weight gaining weight losing weight I always end up higher than where I started and that’s how you end up at 430 pounds it’s by losing 20 pounds and then gaining 25 back so for me I knew that there was self-control issues you know knowing that I had just a calorie goal would lead me to you know being like well I’m gonna eat this 700 calorie Big Mac and that’s going to be my meal for the day and that’s certainly not getting the type of nutrients you need to stay healthy it’s not a great way to diet and I knew that if I had those type of things in my life that I would slip back in the way things were so for me the keto diet made sense because it’s it’s giving me all the protein I need it’s giving me a little bit more strict outline on what I can eat but I don’t have a strict outline on how much I can eat so on any given day if I’m really hungry I’m going to eat whatever amount I want to eat as long as I stay keto and that’s working for me so you know there will be days where I’m going to consume three thousand four thousand calories and I’m not going to worry about that you know snowballing into into a tailspin you know I’m just going to I’m going to go the next day and I’ll be right I’ll still be in ketosis I’ll still be burning fat and I’ll feel fine about myself I’m not going to have that guilt that regret and then the other great byproduct of keto is that it has helped curb a lot of those those cravings and that’s what a lot of people talk about is you don’t have the cravings for sugar that you have on other diets because your body isn’t burning it for energy anymore your body isn’t requesting it your body isn’t isn’t asking you for constantly now you still have the mental block you know and I still deal with that every day I’ve been on keto for six months up until up until tomorrow day I didn’t have a single cheat meal and there are still things that I wanted but it wasn’t my body wanting it was my mind wanting it and that’s fine and you know what a lot of people do cheat for me I set my goal to not cheat in the first six months I did have a cheat day on Memorial Day so I’m you know at the end of the six months I rewarded myself you know I just went out any sum of things that I’d wanted whether it be a slice of Italian pizza you know I think as a breakfast food overall I mean you guys can go back and look to my my fitness spell if you’d like it’s too high eight but you know those were all mental cravings and then all I had to do was get right back on keto the next day and I felt like I didn’t enjoy the way I felt obviously I like the way the food tasted but you know it’s not something that I even enjoyed enough that that I think that I really want to do again right away because while I enjoyed the way the food tastes it again that’s mental I did enjoy what I felt I didn’t enjoy the energy levels ahead for the next day so you know it just really made me appreciate and reminded me of exactly why I’m on this diet and exactly how great I feel on this diet you know because once your burning burning your fattener in ketosis and you’re using your ketones and your body fat for energy you will find an endless amount of energy like I said the diet isn’t for everybody I don’t push it on people you know I think that if you eat right whether it be paleo whether it be calorie counting I think that if you’re doing the right things and you’re able to stick to the diet long term then almost any diet is going to work for you the the secret is just finding the diet that’s going to work for you than finding the diet that you personally can stink too for me that’s Aikido for a lot of people I know have found success with Aikido you know a lot of people that I’ve worked with personally family members have found success as well as some of you guys so you know I’m definitely happy to share my experiences as often as possible but yeah I’m excited with that we’re at the six-month mark 138 pounds down you know moving forward I still have a good amount of weight to lose I would like to lose about another 30 or so pounds um you know I’m not I’m not quite or a Mac you know physically yet but you know I’m getting there I still have you know a little bit of fat that I need to lose but you know I’m certainly a lot happier with where I’m at my energy levels are off the charts you know my kids you know I’m getting to play with them as often as I want not worrying about being sore tired or sweaty so you know everything that I wanted to accomplish I am accomplishing and I’m gonna continue to do so so you know I think that I think that all I could tell you guys as far as advice goes is to define what works for you you know if yo-yo dieting and calorie counting hasn’t worked for you then you could give keto a shot if you think if you think it’s something that could work then then what’s the harm in trying now I don’t think it’s a great diet to plan on doing for just a couple weeks I think you’re going to need to commit to the diet so it’s not something that I would recommend to do flippantly I would do some research to make sure you’re going to do it right and and that way you can see the best results and really stay motivated now a lot of my earliest videos were going into details about exactly how I approach the diet so if you are interested in the keto diet I would check those out I have one that is keto for beginners that’s really just breaking down the diet as simple as possible on how to have as much success as possible without overcomplicating it because that’s a that’s something that this diet is certainly can lead to there’s a lot of wrinkles to the side that you can add and make it difficult but in the beginning it’s a very simple diet so check that video out if you’re interested I have videos detailing exactly how I eat whether it be my approach to sugar alcohols my approach to soda my approach to flours no almond flour coconut flour you know I have all that in the how I eat video and I would definitely take a look at that you the diet does evolve the longer you’ve been on it so you know everybody here you can add me on my fitness pal put the link down below my diet has changed a bit over the last six months obviously but I have my my diet journal open all the way back to December and in January so if you want to see how I was eating in the beginning and what I was eating to lose all that weight in the first three months by all means add me and check it out via check out those videos and let me know what you guys think and if you guys have any specific questions follow me on Instagram DM your questions I’d be happy to help out as much as I can you know that’s the reason I originally started this channel was to share my experiences and to help motivate people to lose weight because I know that for me personally watching videos of people to lost weight and getting information from people helped motivate me and help keep me going so I definitely want to pay that forward and help as many people as are interested in being helped so you know I you know this channel has definitely grown a lot and and so has the NCM and I appreciate that so if you guys like it please like comment and subscribe I appreciate it and I appreciate you
