Homemade Keto Bars Recipe | Chocolate Coconut Bar | 3g Net Carbs

[Music] you [Music] hey guys today we are going to make our very own homemade keto bars you may have seen it if not we will link it below we did an interview with keto bars where we spoke to the founder and men who created this bar and we asked him if we treated this at home how close would we get because we love to like experiment with foods and try and recreate products that we think you guys should definitely try but could be a little pricey he said 80% I’ve seen you guys videos and I know you guys have some skills in the kitchen you could make something that tastes like these pretty reasonable on a scale of one to ten I bet you two could come up with something like 80% chance you can come up with something pretty close you could you would not have as much success coming with something up with something that was shelf space of course we’re going to try out of course we’re going to make a recipe video and of course you guys now get to make it at home technically to the actual keto bar maybe that like 70% 75% there if you do like to travel and have snacks on the go these are a great option we will also link these below you can go check those out let’s get down the business so you saw Matt break so sometimes you just need a man in the kitchen right with the hammer he broke this beautiful coconut up I just love the smell of coconut meat we did more than a couple test batches and the way we started was looking at the actual ingredients in the bar so we did our best and we think we got pretty close so we’re going to start with our gonna coconut is the second ingredient listed on the keto bars chocolate its first but our variation is slightly different because we like a little more coconut so we’re going to go more coconut heavy and just right below it in grams chocolate we did try it with more chocolate the first time around but in our opinion this version is much better so first we want a hundred and fifty grams of raw coconut meat if you don’t use fresh coconut at home that often and honestly we don’t 100 grams of fresh coconut is six net carbs and this recipe we’re making here is going to make six bars and we’re adding it directly to our processor you know no melting today no the only hard part is bringing down your coconut we are using unsweetened baker’s chocolate today so we want 127 grams of baker’s chocolate which we have already measured out right here toss it in next we have protein powder we always have some protein powder on hand this is just this is unflavored so we’re going straight unflavored chocolate Woodworth vanilla any protein powder would actually work but we really wanted to get that keto Bar flavor so we’re going unflavored protein power 20 2.5 grams of protein powder next on the label is butter we cut up some butter here no melting either this is two and a quarter tablespoons right here we’re going to add it to the processor next heavy whipping cream 3/4 of a tablespoon one and a half tablespoons of water 45 drops of liquid stevia so in a couple of the batches we did use the wristlet all because erythritol is actually listed on the label as what they use for their sweetener but we found that we like using stevia in general more so we tried a couple widths and without and we found that stevia alone is just as good to make these keto bars really sweet but if you do want to use a wrister tall and you have it at home you want to add 18 grams to the processor to offset the sweetness cut out 15 drops of liquid stevia so 18 grams erythritol 30 drops stevia to try and make things easy for you guys we measured out 45 drops of stevia into this teaspoon and it’s filled about 3/4 of the way so 3/4 a teaspoon of liquid stevia now we’re just going to process all this together we did try it a couple different ways we melted everything down in a soft saucepan after like separately grinding up the coconut we also baked it with an egg and we found that this is just the most easiest and also comes out really really well I’m going to give it one quick push down and do a another quick pulse through but it looks pretty good already and that’s perfect guys so yeah this is another silicone mold we have we have a ton of them you don’t have to do bar size but we like to eat our bars with doors we are going to make like I said six so everything in here I’m just going to disperse evenly throughout all six and there you have it we have the oven preheating to 275 it’s pretty low and then we’re only baking it for 15 minutes to get the chocolate melted down it’ll all just become a compact bar there’s no actual reason they need to be baked you could put these in the fridge right now and they would like solidify and become a bar but we like to have the chocolate all melted down it really just combines the coconut chocolate really really well so let’s get these in the oven and then we’ll see you back in 15 minutes they just got out of the oven and this is what they look like as you can see the chocolate melts down they’re a little darker in color and now all we have to do is pop them in the fridge for an hour so that they can harden become cold and we’ll come back with the taste test [Music] they’re done they are hardened they set in the fridge for an hour we got some pictures look at that so mmm I smell so chocolaty and coconutty so that’s how you make our variation on keto bars I’m going to taste test them for you right now and I’m really really excited really coconutty I will give my honest opinion I will give my honest opinion though the first version of this we did use a wristlet all this time we omitted the erythritol and used only stevia I’m a fan of a risotto I like the sweetness that that gave but we gave you both options so maybe try out both do half of the best with some erythritol half of the bats which is stevia and see what you like better link to the blog post we will give you the exact nutrition of these keto bars and you can compare them to the actual ones you will be pleasantly surprised they do hold up pretty well when they’re just sitting out but we like to keep ours stored in the refrigerator go out and make some keto bars and let us know what you think thanks for joining [Music] [Applause] [Music]
