[Music] hey everybody and welcome to this week’s episode of new strengths Sugababes and today we have a 48 year old sugar baby no she doesn’t look 48 we’re just saying us like a couple Eve you’ve got two kids he’s got two boys ones it’s 20 and Helen’s a PT and how long have you been in the program now six months yeah nearly six hours I started on did the 28-day challenge twice I did good yeah I don’t think I did a product like the first time ster O’Connor do today mr. day didn’t know the day and then comment oh yeah here and there so I really didn’t focus on it too much in that first one but then I think it was a little while and I did it again and I was like no I’ll follow follow the full 28 days still properly and then I think you did the first tough challenge oh and you did the buff challenge I did the rough challenge as well because I went oh if I can really like you know how you kind of go that’s a lot of money I don’t I yeah a little bit of difference I feel a bit better but all do I for cap that amount of money and I do have a a call with April and then we would chat and look I’m still undecided so I’m so wet now and then the buff challenge come up anyway Melissa gave me a really good chance to kind of see what it’s actually like and not you know for those who are going dry before you buy you know yeah yeah yeah yeah it was so I try to end are you it was great so that was he sign me up thought she loved this too much and now you’ve come to the event you’ve done it all you’ve done everything you’ve been given all I was upset I couldn’t go to the first event because I was only on Boston oh well there’ll be hates more don’t worry but um but can you tell the viewers why basically why you joined like what were the issues that you are having and how they fit in your life I do Steve issues I was tired all the time and and I guess being a PT what you get taught in PT school as they call it yeah you know cardio by its cardio weights you know six to seven days a week you’ve got to be in the gym to get results all that kind of stuff and I thought well yeah when you’re younger that’s good because you’ve got the energy you know but you know getting now into my 40s I’m really at that perimenopause stage so getting closer to menopause I started to notice like when I turned 40 I was putting away I was doing all this exercise and it wasn’t really helping like I just couldn’t shoot away I’ll probably lose a couple of kilos and then I’ll put it back on I did lots of different other challenges I’ve done Michelle Bridges I did her program twice can beat shot done her program I’ve done the keto diet I wait watches all of those one let’s say you know I’ve gone through the whole process over did Gloria Marshalls I don’t know if anyone knows Gloria I think I might have been in Adelaide mum and I did Gloria Marshalls and it was just shakes so you would have three shakes a day is he eating real food was terrible and okay that was in my early twenties that one so that was early on so I’ve always better with weight and when I was 10 I was overly really overweight so yeah it’s been one of those things I’ve been mindful all the time but now I’m in my 40s I started exercising pretty much consistently in my Ford early 40s because I started putting on weight I had a little bit of success persons you stop you kind of just fall away back on so yeah and this is weird and this is I find I can be consistent with it the food’s great the exercise is good because obviously I don’t work out oh we can a gym I don’t know six or seven days a week anymore you don’t have the time or the energy anymore I think when you’re in your 20s you know I remember I could flog myself like I could even when I was tired I could make myself get up and do it but now I’m just it’s you catches up with you you know things that you did when you were 20 you know they don’t work anymore in all of these women in their 40s end up with all these like perimenopausal issues and menopausal issues and yeah it’s a real it’s a real problem I think the fitness industry a lot of the diets and training probably set women up later in life with some with all these issues so tell the viewers what results have you seen so far coming into the program all within I reckon the first few weeks and coming into the program digestive issues I started with a carrot salad just changing having no faith with preservatives in them and things like that the bloating went but within a couple of weeks like I was happy actually a to your story I am last year in October I was having a lot of digestive issues and I actually thought I had gallstones at one point over a week and this was our anniversary weekend my husband I went away for our anniversary and I was in excruciating pain to the point that he on the way home I was finding it hard to drive because I was in so much pain and I went to the doctors as soon as I got back and I said I think I’ve got gone something’s going on on inside I was like us I felt like I was having a baby it was that painful and they sent me off for scared and I wasn’t gallstone so I just put it down to digestion so this has really helped like I don’t get any of that bloating I don’t get any of the pain that I used to I probably went to the toilet put what I thought was pretty regularly by bowel movements but right now it’s two or three times Dale’s for the go maybe once today so yes definitely improve that and yeah and I feel lighter like I’d get up in the morning and I go I don’t feel heavy but you know here that will help me feel like you’re weighed down kind of feeling so I feel lighter like I get up and I go I feel like there’s I’m cleansed you don’t mean my physic yeah guys if you’re energized yeah yeah definitely different although the last couple of days it’s gonna be difficult because I guess a few of the ladies know I had my Mirena removed last Friday so that’s been a big chance couple of days everyone’s saying to me I am like probably come for a month or two your period or things like that and bang Saturday afternoon there it was don’t worry though like that’s what I did you give it a few months and you eat the food take the produce day and you’ll be today I’ve got the producer today so that’s arrives awesome so yeah start on that and see how that all goes you’re good with your diet – it’s a key consistency with your nutrition it will help you so much don’t worry weight loss give it a couple months and I reckon you’ll come good yeah yeah and what about like body composition wise what changed if you send your body um I’ve gone from 74 kilos to 68 yeah well I have lost weight and I’m have lost body fat percentage I was doing body scan so that’s interesting because we use a part of our job as well with people whose body company things like that and they’re really flogging it where I work at the moment he’s putting composition skin so cause she got to be up on it and and do it yourself so you can kind of explain it to people but yes I lost some body fat percentage obviously lost weight but I lost centimetres like my waist I think has gone from 84 to 73 and that was from just ablating but everywhere I think we lost you know a few centimetres with my legs my arms haven’t changed much definitely lost off my hips them definitely my waist but that’s where I was kept that’s why I carry on my way it was through my midsection so I’m pretty pleased with that and what how many calories you’re eating a day now I’m up to 2,000 calories I started on 1850 yeah and I top that gradually because I was only on about I was roughly probably having about 1,500 calories I mean all kind of calories many a time and was starving but so I was on about 15 to 16 hundred calories roughly so now that didn’t take too long I kind of built that up over a couple of weeks but now I’ve just had an increase in the last couple weeks is always a bit hungry I think that was because the hoenn controlled demolition too much so now kinda put my calories out for me it’s amazing though isn’t it you’re losing weight losing fat needing more food and training less and I haven’t put any weight on oh it’s probably been in two weeks I’ve increased was you know my calories again and I haven’t put on any weight it’s stabilized pretty much now so yeah we just think good just amazing what sort of food you eating oh very a lot of people do they cook up on a Sunday but because the boys like a bit of variety I don’t stick to the same things in each week like I do they’re deconstructed tacos that means means mince and rice noodles I do that with a peseta we have my croissants so I might mind them whistles with a lot of mashed potato rice not so much I find I’ve got a few digestive issues for that and I’ve kind of tested measured that by too much rice I get a bit bloated with that side don’t eat a lot of that so it’s really a lot of sweet potato or mashed potato rich juice the orange juice off beforehand I was missing anything ever here I do not know but I never have been a big coat drinker so I tend to find that makes me be related whether it’s just a guess like there’s no no okay yeah I drink that about once a week that’s liked haven’t once thank you yeah I’d make some today brownies I live on brownies I made the ice cream custards I’ve done the sauces the eight slices I’ve made all of those I did the apple crumble mm-hmm my favorites too yeah there’s so many amazing recipes I think so many delicious yummy foods that you can eat which is so good even the recipes that I was doing beforehand I’ve kind of converted them to all approved like well though the one I was doing before I make her I call the Mongolian steak but and the Buddha’s love that we have that once a week and it’s just like beef strips we have brown sugar soy sauce so we don’t have too often I’m soy sauce garlic garlic and ginger [Music] like the sauce art you cooked me the me I kind of coat in a little bit of cornflour mm-hmm and then you kind of fry that up and then you put it in the sauce and we just have it with rice and it’s yum yum got it it’s love food could ever imagine going back to eating bloody 1200 calories a probably die and Helen some of the main concerns of women have before joining our program sure you had all of these concerns is um one is time so you know the majority the women in our program their 40s and 50s or late 30s they have kids they work like you and they think they won’t have time to do this well advice what would you say to that make time well I’ve learned to make time and the thing was when I was exercising seven or sixty seven days a week I was getting up at 5:30 in the morning and smashing out 45 minutes of cardio before I go side of my day so I studying the day exhausted already and I was doing that on though not eating so I get up and I would exercise for 45 minutes with no food no nothing in there in my in my system and then I can break first after that and then my day would start and I’ll be on the go all day long so I used to work a 9 to 5 job Monday to Friday so I used to work in a in a financial institution so I was pretty busy so that’s the only time I would find it so if I got home at the end of the day I would never do it because I was just exhausted and I was most days I would get home and I was she cleans hostage so now I have the endless amounts of energy so it’s really good but I’m getting my sleep like a go to bed probably around 9:30 10 o’clock and I’m up at 6:30 so that’s generally and I sleep pretty well I don’t never had any sleep issues so that’s not been an issue and what about doing it online we have a lot of women worry that they can’t learn how to lift online or they don’t know how they’ll go doing an online program how have you found the support the delivery really good yeah I found a good although I’ve had obviously personal training experience and I kind of knew the basics I’ve learnt so much from that and I like that you know I’ve got someone that I can send videos to and they can tell me you know and that will weekend you know if people are thinking about going guy because that opened a lot of question well not then answered a lot of questions for me because I was probably struggling with a couple of Leafs and exercises and it’s just being able to be one-on-one that you know and they’re critiquing you oh she’s doing it was really good but that the kind of video response that you’re getting so sending your videos through and doing all that was yeah excellent because you don’t get that every session that you do at the gym you can’t send three videos to your PT every time you do a training session so that’s good yeah if you’re looking in value for me I looked at it and I was just talking to happy about it the other day their value for the program you know you pay for a nutritionist you’re paying for a PT you pay for a gym membership and there any emotional side of things like the psychological side of things as well and you can’t get that for the amount of money that I’m paying here per week you know it would cost me so much more so much more yeah I think it’s like you get everything in one really and they come in amazing community I think that’s another really thing that makes the program so unique is this the incredible community of women you know in here and the sub that I’ve never seen a group so invested in seeing each other succeed you know and support each other and push each other and pick you up could you have your days everyone does when they oh and you just like I want to throw in the towel but you know everyone rallies around you and you know doesn’t like it so yeah it’s really good and finally for a woman was sitting on the fence about joining she wasn’t sure what what advice would you give it um just to learn you won’t regret it honestly I did sit on the fence for a month or so like I was that at that point where I could have signed up with April and I didn’t and it kind of took that I guess that light bulb moment where I thought you know what this is actually doing something better for me like I felt better I’m on mood to better yeah no yeah it just came to a point for me where I just realized that you know I couldn’t do it online I I needed and they did the help I needed someone to help me to steer me in the right direction because it is there’s so much crap out there and different programs that you just don’t know and and for me obviously being a personal trainer I kind of need the food side of things and how to eat properly but it’s just putting it all together and making everything connect you know the nutrition side the training side yeah you can’t learn this stuff anywhere else you don’t get the information anywhere else as much as we get through this program and I’m now you know showing my clients how to live properly which is win-win for me and you know I keep putting out going to what everyone have the counts I think I spoke to you about it on the world weekend everyone in the office is now in carrot salad spread the word Hill and spread the word help help other women save it from these stupid diets don’t yeah I get to the next one too again so just one thing I wanted to mention Kitty if there’s any women that you kind of I am a lot of people don’t know I had breast cancer three years ago so I was diagnosed with breast cancer so I’m still on the you know on the cusp of obviously I’ve been cancer-free for three years now which is really amazing but yeah the training side of it who ever thought that they couldn’t lift body god you know I had a mastectomy so it was really really difficult with training but you know just this strength side of it I feel really strong now it it’s been amazing that I’ve you know learnt how to lift properly cuz you know you they don’t teach you this kind of stuff and look any woman’s out there you know and just survive eating um and and all of that has made me kind of feel stronger and more powerful in in myself so it’s truly been amazing so you went into life yep definitely good for nothing well that’s exactly what we want you to feel strong and happy and empowered and just amazing what happens when you put really good food in your body and nourish yourself and your left and you get it’s really awesome yeah that’s so so so good oh and that’s one of the things I like about the program is I am I can see myself progressing you know you’re not every week but every few months I’m getting stronger and I feel like you know I’m gonna be there my own is obviously to lift as heavy as I can and you know I’m not going for any you know Olympic records here but just to prove to myself you know oh the will weekend I would never I thought I would have been out I did this sixty two and a half kilos and I did it so you know it’s all about that you know mindset as well so ladies get on up it’s really cool and you’ll get to me the program with Helen and
