GAZPACHO-A QUICK, DELICIOUS AND NUTRITIOUS KETO RECIPE!!!


hello and welcome to total health with dr. Nick and Katie guys after the last video we did when I grilled the steak and made grilled vegetables we also introduced Katie’s gazpacho recipe and as I said it’s it’s the best on the planet actually wait it’s not my gas but alright alright well give credit where credit is due it’s my grandmother’s yeah we called her WETA she recently passed away about two months ago so this was kind of an honor of her today yeah so anyway we showed it we previewed it and I’ve been getting tons of questions about it so I said Katie we need to have you on the show today and show everybody how to make this gazpacho recipe so let’s go ahead and get started with that I’m gonna go over the ingredients and we’re gonna go ahead and start putting it together so well plus it’s part of my journey this is a great snack it’s getting warm out and it’s just like a liquid salad I love tomato are cool right I stick it in the refrigerator and then if I need a little pick-me-up or a snack but while other things are cooking it’s a great choice and the kids love it because it’s healthy its nutritious its chilled it’s great for the summer you’re gonna absolutely love it and I’ll just go into the refrigerator take out a picture of it that we have and just pour it into cups you don’t have to put in a bowl you can put it right in a cup so it’s just fantastic to eat on the fly a lot of times I get home from work and I’m a little hungry and getting a little hangry and now I don’t get hungry do i no no never never anyway so I get a little hangry and that is just a great pick-me-up and it just kind of takes the edge off until I can make dinner so anyway let’s go over the ingredient list here so we’ve got right in the Vitamix we’ve actually already got the tomatoes in there we have Alexandria shooting power b-roll today onions cucumber garlic salt and pepper this is this is for garnish that’s acute cumbers there it what put it off to the side a little bit green pepper celery olive oil you know gajala oil is apple cider vinegar and that’s the whole ingredient list right there and you’re gonna blend this up right make this incredible liquid salad yes so I have something to show you this is my recipe oh this is actually on her paper so we’ll put it on nicer it’ll be in the description below so anyway a lot of times you guys are asking me for recipes some of the things I’m doing are made on the fly it’s a lot of it to taste so bear with me on that but we’re gonna start putting out recipes because see ya said she said six tablespoons so I asked her what the tablespoons or so they do know the tablespoon so is that the way she talks well I can’t do her very well it’s got a really thick heavy heavy Spanish accent yeah anyway so we’re gonna put the ingredient list down below once again and a lot of you guys been asking me for cookbooks so if that’s what you’d like go ahead and put in a comment section make sure you let me know if that’s something you’re interested in I’d be more than happy to put a cookbook together of these simple keto recipes because once again we’ve been getting a lot of great comments on the fact that you guys have been liking that the recipes are simple and clean and not so heavy and weighted down but yet still keto and still very very nutritious also just another side note this is Gus Pedro this is an original dish apparently from Spain so all you guys in Spain we do have a lot of spam let me know I don’t know I know it’s a little different than the traditional gazpacho but it’s really easy it’s really good and my grandmother would be rolling in her grave because unfortunately I did not use fresh tomatoes I use whole peeled canned tomatoes but it’s easier I have five kids they want quick gazpacho just grab a can of whole peeled tomatoes hopefully Organic of course yeah and that’s what I put in there all right so the tomatoes are already in the Vitamix know it’s your thing you put together together well you you know the order alright so I usually put the tomatoes in then I put the chunkier stuff in these these are green peppers okay so there goes that [Music] and then I like to do the hot stuff so this is raw garlic it’s about four cloves throw those and hoops throw those in there and then this is about a half of medium size onion it’s a medallion Yin I don’t know yeah just cut like chunks yeah oh sweet aren’t you she likes to put a whole onion now I need to work and I’m gonna do some when you put a hole on yunnan you can really taste the vapors so once again it’s it’s to taste so we’re giving you ballpark numbers which you can modify it you may say it’s got too much garlic for your taste or a little too much onion or you might want more garlic alone so so this is a whole cucumber I would say it’s probably a medium-sized cucumber just of course organic and then I’m gonna blend this up and then put the stringy stuff in stringy stuff meaning the seller do you need the Vitamix plunger [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay so we got that okay well I’m not done yet but it chunky but if I’m gonna blend it more later so I don’t want to blend it too much but now I’m gonna put the stringy stuff and provisioning stuff in laughs holy because I really want to get it off the fiber stuff blended well and if everything was brought down with it all right so that relatively four to five calories and then it’s so extinct and then with this consciousness though there’s a teaspoon and a half of salt so that sounds like a lot of salt but I am a lot of it and it just brings the whole takes them of course you can use recipe to difference in the lane I love this song that my good friend Jim and then this is what lots of minerals you don’t want to use table salt I know some people on YouTube or saying it’s okay to use sodium chloride or the white table salt I’m not a big fan of that bless the middle now and I want to make sure that all the foods including you know as nutritious as possible that the Celtic sea salt good sea salt Himalayan salt to smoke up our memory mr. face that’s the case extra virgin olive oil I generally put a whole lot more but if I’m going to do her traditional recipe Wow [Music] and then I’ll show you what I can hear this is Apple kind of topless cider vinegar with the mother your pops are turning random flags I love it I use it for all our salads for the gazpacho and I came to life really really healthy diet if you can’t get this in your stores what I’m going to do is click in the description of links if you can water it online I’ve been getting this questions a lot from our viewers from out of the country you can’t get a whole sense thing so you can order it online what if Amazon have it shipped your house I don’t know what it cost but ultimately link in description so when I was a kid and how do we have our get-togethers I’m usually the one why it’s wait for everyone to be done with 3-mile and I grab the mobile and literally all of the three the rest of that my father’s like that too so you must be kindred spirits my mom always loved reading vinegar and it’s a great probiotic and they’ve done with the mother and their debate and bacteria that’s great a macrobiotic with probiotics almost I almost look at it is I put worth in what the recipe calls for this is her rest got 3/4 of a cup of vinegar but I maybe sometimes double that we like sweat oh [Music] well in once again as I’ve mentioned often do this video I’ll typically taste tested and if I feel it needs a bit more acidity to it I’ll say hey man they’re a little bit more salt you know onion or dog whatever all right I love this Vitamix all right all right they sell the final mixes on Amazon I’m sure they would that it would be a good thing if they did all right so or something popped in their hair all right want to go ahead and take a look what I got for you guys you hate it when he puts the spoon in the buddies cooking and puts in his mouth about the back I got tastings bad we got the cooking police on the show today all right go ahead try it so [Music] I think it’s find a way to attack me I really what I wouldn’t change a thing that’s really good this way I like it alright so now all we have to do is chill it in the refrigerator for I don’t know about an hour so some people my grandmother especially she likes horror right in this bowl well I want if you put ice of course it’s gonna water it down it gets really liquidy and soupy no I don’t like to do that I just like to take it put it in the refrigerator until it’s chilled and that’s when it’s best served so but for today we’re just gonna eat it room temperature yep and then like we said earlier we’ve got here this is the chopped up to cover and this is for garnish now what I was planning on doing and I’m probably just going to do a whole nother separate show for it is to make kedo croutons or ketones as I call them do I got time to talk keto croutons aka ketones dead end will probably make a mat of almond flour something like that season them up then rebake okay it’ll be good but I’ll make that well and the thing is you normally it does call for croutons obviously that’s not Kido and it does absorb some of the raw onion garlic and the vinegar in there so adds a little extra texture in there and and I really like it with crouton so I would really appreciate if you figured out how to do croutons but I will do it I will do it you know I’ve got a list now I’ve gotta make keto tara misu I have to make keto cannolis yeah keto complication what we’re gonna be doing Kido cupcakes soon and one thing that I thought be a great thing to do because I get a lot of questions about desserts because you guys have a lot of sweet tooth’s out there which we got a curve that a little bit know I’m a sweet dude – I know but one of the things I thought I would do is actually make with the chocolate pudding recipe make an almond flour crust make a really healthy whipped cream and make chocolate cream pie and we’ll say well sing I want that I want what a lot of things sometimes you they’re healthy but they taste like cardboard ish so not your stuff no not much not your stuff but you make that on me improvi the pudding recipe was amazing you guys have said it you know that was good that was really good so anyway okay so I’m gonna taste this oh my gosh it’s for me no it’s for me it’s for me
