that’s why I’m a fan of the keto diet because once again I’m a fan of fasting I gained some good muscle okay I’m going to show you have some before and after pictures coming soon but I grow some good muscle on the keto diet I also retain muscle while I’m cutting the fat [Music] the vegan ketogenic diet now many vegans I was once one of them we didn’t like the keto diet and for good reasons because most of us know the keto diet to be something that meat eaters do wasn’t really popular with a lot of vegans or vegetarians it wasn’t something we did up until now and honestly a lot of vegans still are against it just simply because of the doctors who have been talking about the high-fat diets or talking about the negative benefits of eating too much cholesterol or saturated fats and honestly a lot of these tests and studies are done on people who eat meat eggs and different other you know bacon fats all this crazy stuff that will clog your arteries and is bad for you now me personally I’ve never seen a study done on high-fat plant-based foods so today I actually want to give you a list of plant-based foods to eat and not to eat now of course this board is pretty big it wouldn’t fit in the whole scan time the whole span of the video so what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna zoom in on this board and I’m going to show you some foods that I eat personally on this diet and not only that some of the foods that I try to stay away from majority of the time now for all of my people who hate high fat or who are strictly carbohydrate lovers that’s totally fine I’ve seen 80/10/10 work for people I’ve seen other things work I think all diets work for people who you know vegan diets let me say that I think all vegan tyres work as long as you’re getting the benefits that you aim to get for me I’ve noticed fat burning is substantially higher when I do a ketogenic diet not only that my skin gets a lot better my energy is better and I do what I call more of a modified ketogenic diet slash diet variation where I come out of ketosis so let’s get into it I want to show you some of these I don’t make this video too long so let’s get going so as you see here I have good vegan keto meals and not-so-good keto vegan meals now I want to focus on they’re not so good first and why they’re not so good so grains not so good why because they usually if not all the time will kick you out of ketosis I’ll explain later in another video while staying in ketosis for a couple of days it’s beneficial corn not so good right not so good beans when I say most beans and legumes because you’ll see here I have chickpeas on this because chickpeas are actually pretty good you can get away with that on a keto diet sugar honey agave and maple syrup no-go these things will spike your insulin so fast it’s crazy and I’m talking about kick you out of ketosis instantly and just real quick the reason why we don’t want insulin for those of you are still trying to figure this out we don’t want insulin in the diet simply because when insulin is available or when it’s present fat burning or we call lipolysis is not available so we don’t want sugar or insulin in the blood too much we want too much of or the wrong type of spice free apples bananas oranges and a lot of other different fruits that are high in sugar are also gonna cause that I didn’t put juices up here but fruit juices it’s definitely a no-go as well and then we got potatoes and yams those are a few things that I try to keep out of my diet on a regular basis but I do go in and out of ketosis and I’ll come and have some of these foods maybe once a week and sometimes maybe once every other week just depends on what I’m trying to achieve that week now we’ll come over here to the good side okay and this is some of the foods that I eat I didn’t put any protein powders on here because I want to show you then you can stick to a mostly plant-based diet and get everything you need so me personally I do a lot of pumpkin seeds hemp seeds flax seeds not really much chia seeds but a lot of sunflowers as well and then I come down to the nuts macadamia nuts are really pecans really good those are probably two of the best ones walnuts we’d be better we’ll be best as well I do walnuts a lot probably about 800 calories of walnuts a day which is about a cup maybe a cup and a half I do almonds or almond butters so you’ll see some of these will also have butters that you can use as well try to find a natural butter or as natural as possible Neena get your peanuts a lot of people are you know hit or miss with the peanuts but peanuts are good for me I like them so don’t be hating on me about my penis all right and then we’re gonna talk fruits now for those of you who don’t know fruit avocado is a fruit all right so avocados are good that’s probably one of my favorite foods to eat on the regular basis so I’ll do avocados I also do strawberries cantaloupe blueberries watermelon you can still eat a few of your fruits they just have to be a little lower in carbs or sugar and the cantaloupes more especially in kalos and berries tend to be or when I say lopes I mean simply getting into your melons like cantaloupes watermelon honeydew melon your melons and your berries tend to be lower in sugar or lower in carbohydrates so you can get away with those also what I noticed is in veggies if you keep all of your veggies green or in the cruciferous family usually gonna be okay so you’ll see here I have a few bok choy broccoli Brussels sprouts cabbage and the list goes on and on you can do a lot more vegetables here I just wanted to give you a few to kind of reference to but yeah keep it green keep it cruciferous you can also do cauliflower and things like that which is cruciferous and then I have mock meats here and I want to make sure you all can kind of see that so we’re gonna turn this just a little bit now when it comes to your mock meats I keep it soy free now this is just me personally I like to keep this thing soy free so you’ll see here I have hemp tofu which is hard to you can actually make it just Google hemp tofu recipes you can actually make that hemp pay which is a tempeh made from same thing hemp seeds and then say ten if you’re ok with wheat you can do a little seitan be fine and once again chickpeas are actually on the list and I want to make sure you see that yes chickpeas are on the list slash hummus the reason why hummus is on the list is because hummus is usually just a chickpea with a little tahini butter and sometimes you know maybe a little more salt or something in it but it’s pretty good it’s high fat lower and the carbohydrates and the carbohydrates that they do have on mostly fiber so you can do good with your chickpeas it’s totally fine now I realize this video is probably a little raggedy than what you use to but I wanted to pull out my board and kind of show you okay I got to show you my chicken scratch it’s not the best handwriting don’t talk about me but this is how we do it on a vegan ketogenic diet like I said ketogenic is not for everybody okay but if you’re looking to lose a lot more fat more rapidly if you like the benefits of fasting ketogenic is pretty much of fasting mimicking diet almost so some of the things that happen when you fast like human growth hormone lower insulin levels all of these things usually also happen on a lower rate on a keto diet so that’s why I’m a fan of the keto diet because once again I’m a fan of fasting I gain some good muscle okay I’m gonna show you have some before and after pictures coming soon but I grow some good muscle on a keto diet I also retain muscle while I’m cutting the fat so this allows me to really get in what I need to get in also what I’ve noticed is my clients do a lot better with this why because I can fill you up with foods like lots of calories and we can still lose fat on this diet why because we’re not spiking insulin too much keeping the carbohydrates somewhat low you know 10% or less for carbohydrates and more from calories and yeah I can I can feed a regular you know sighs woman 3,000 calories and she’ll still lose fat on this diet so yes that is the beauty of this diet it is about hormone optimization not about cutting calories now I do realize that has a little bit to play in it but for the most part this is about hormones and if you’re spiking an insulin you have a lot of insulin coming every day or each day this is gonna be hard like the results you get from Kido it’s not gonna happen on that type of diet where you
