good morning so let’s make bagels I love me some bagels like who doesn’t really so I came across this recipe on dr. Davina I hope I’m saying words correctly I’ll pop up her Instagram handle somewhere around here but I came across this recipe for bagels on her Instagram and of course all the links to her blog and I’ve made these before and they are so so good you guys completely Kido I think she says they have 5 grams per bagel of carbs which is not bad totally workable into your daily carb budget I do vary her recipe a little bit really only in the method that she makes her Fathead dough because that’s basically what this is it’s a typical fat head dough with the addition of psyllium husk powder this is completely not digestible by your body and it adds a little chewiness to the dough so we are gonna make our ahead dough which I think I’ve made for you guys previously but we are gonna make that and then we’ll put our bagels together and let’s do this let me change camera angles so you can see what I’m doing so I already have all of my stuff measured out this is one and a half cups of mozzarella cheese shredded works best this is 3/4 of a cup of almond flour and they need a fork so I kind of just run my torque around in the flour because it does get clumpy sometimes so you got all the big clumps out and then I add it to the cheese and then I mix them both together that she’s on the almond flour in dr. Davina’s recipe she uses the other method of making fat huh dough which is to mount your cheese first and then add the flour but I find for me it doesn’t work as well so this is what I do I mix them together in the bowl and then two ounces of cream cheese and then this goes into the Micro for 60 seconds when that comes out we will be adding in the baking powder this is one tablespoon of baking powder 1 tablespoon of psyllium husk and that was also the time when you add in your spices she calls for I 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and 2 teaspoons of onion salt I have neither one of those things so I’m going to skip that for today and I’m going to add in some pink Himalayan salts and an egg of course this Fathead don’t if you guys haven’t tried to make it yet it is super super easy and it comes together really really quick it is a no-brainer and you can do so many things with it you can make pizza crust you can make calzones I’ve done that it’s it’s messy but it’s delicious I covered mozzarella cheese sticks with this Fathead dough the possibilities are endless so it’s a little melty so you just give it a stir start trying to incorporate everything in here and then this goes back into the micro for 30 seconds we’re almost there guys this bit like I said this comes together superfast here we are you can see it’s taking a more dough-like consistency and appearance I find that mixing the almond flour and the must the shredded mozzarella cheese together kind of just like mix in amat helps it really come together nice and smooth so now we are going to put in our 1 tablespoon of baking powder our 1 tablespoon of psyllium husk I am going to grind in some pink Himalayan sea salt and we gonna crack our egg so now you start mixing all of this together and it’s not gonna come together the egg is gonna be separate it’s gonna look like a hot mess and what you do is you stick it in the Micro for ten seconds and then give it another stir another ten seconds another star another ten seconds another stir generally I find that I have to do it three times so let’s get started again I know that I’ve filmed this for you guys before but at this point you’re thinking to yourself there’s no way that this is ever gonna coming together to add oh I’m never gonna be able to use this stuff or anything it’s going in the trash but just hold tight just hold tight because it does come together I actually think that I forgot to put in the baking powder when hamate was the first time and those looking more and more like dough and I’m gonna give it one more go and then we’re done so after this go bro we’re gonna mix it up and then it is going to go rest in the refrigerator for about ten minutes and then we will come back and shake this into bagels and give it an egg wash bath and bake these bad boys up so here we go Oh ready we are back and our dough has rested for ten minutes I have my baking sheet with parchment paper stuck up and we’re just going to work on making this into just gonna do four bagels when I made these the first time I was not able to make bagels that I could cut in half do you not I mean like the typical bagels so basically we just cream cheese the top of them and went on about our lives so I don’t know if that’s something that I’m doing wrong or if it’s just the nature of the Fathead dough we are still waiting for the oven to come up to temperature we are almost there with the ovens so we should be good to go and then these are going to bake in a 400 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes you guys like obviously these are not the big fluffy New York style bagels that a lot of us are used to but these are a super super yummy representation and I’m not sad about these at all like I can definitely one of these and my bagel cravings are gone this tastes enough like the real thing that it’s not a hardship at all so I have one egg beaten right in here and I’m going to give these a guy’s a little eggy bath and I am using this everything bagel seasoning blend from tones it’s just hot brand that’s like in every grocery store out there so sprinkle these liberally because I like a lot of big leaf seasoning there you go anyway you could adapt the ingredients and this to make any kind of bagel that you want even a sweeter bagel if you really wanted to using like maybe just a few blueberries or something like that I think you’re totally do it um you could make spicy bagels you could make cheesy cheesy bagels classic plain style bagels cinnamon bagels which would be delicious but my oven is up to temp I’m gonna pop these in for 15 to 20 minutes and we’ll be back alright guys our bagels are done and this is what they will look like don’t they look beautiful I cooked these I baked these for 20 minutes in a 400-degree oven that’s what it came down to for me so which one which one which one let’s do this one see what I mean like I don’t think I could cut that in half these are still warm which is the best way to eat bagels and I’m going to change the camera around and we will do a taste test right so you can see they have a nice bready pull it looks quite like and bright in there hmm it’s are really good you guys there is a slight throwback to Fathead dough which is only reasonable because that’s what these are but there is a very nice bready consistency please do it for me you guys this was a really really good recipe I am gonna put links to dr.
