Chicken Florentine the Easy Way | Simple Keto Dinner Recipes


what’s going on today guys we have a quick and easy recipe the whole family’s gonna love we’re gonna jump right into it today we’re making chicken Florentine if you don’t know what that is it’s kind of like a creamy chicken recipe with some spinach in there to start we got three chicken breasts here you can either pound them out and make them thinner but I like to just butterfly them that’s kind of my preferred method it’s easier and we are gonna get a cast-iron skillet that’s what I like to do this recipe in heating to medium-high heat and we’re just gonna get a little sear going on the chicken so we’re using a seasoned pan it already has some oil down there otherwise you can use some coconut oil avocado oil and we’re gonna just season salt and pepper the chicken breasts the nice thing about this recipe is if you have chicken breasts they’re very high protein and not a lot of fat really lean the Florentine aspect of this the sauce the creamy sauce is butter it’s heavy cream it adds a lot of fat to it so by the end of the night you got yourself a pretty good dinner as far as the keto macros go salt both sides okay pans heated now we’re just gonna add the chicken if you can help it you don’t want the chicken to be touching or close to each other cuz then it’ll start steaming each other a little bit and that’ll prevent it from getting a nice crispy sear on the outside now while the chicken is cooking we’re gonna chop up our red onion we’re gonna use a quarter of this I always say this but if you guys suck at cooking or your kind of unconfident in the kitchen melt some butter in a pan chop up some onion garlic optionally ginger and that’s the start of your recipe it makes everything taste good it’s automatic so we’re gonna just mince this workshop I guess I’m not really big on mincing chickens looking good it’s been in here for about four or five minutes I’m going to flip it oh yeah okay guys chickens looking good it actually probably took about ten minutes total so I am going to take these out and we’re gonna use the same skillet for the sauce now turn the heat down to more of like medium-low to start the sauce we’re gonna use four tablespoons of butter half a stick and you want to scrape up some of the chicken drippings and stuff get more flavor going to the butter we’re gonna add the red onion and a tablespoon of garlic we’re gonna actually use this minced garlic that’s in a squeeze bottle but feel free to chop your own I find that the freshly chopped garlic you need less of it then you do this this is kind of like not as flavorful and that is the basis for a delicious sauce just let that cook down for a one or two minutes okay so the secret ingredient is going to be some white wine now if you’re not familiar with cooking with wine it does have a pretty good complexity to the flavor you can substitute that with brah though I would prefer to use chicken broth you can find out all we have is beef broth but we’re going to just go with the wine so we’re gonna use 1/3 of a cup and contrary to what they tell you on TV the alcohol does not cook off I thought that for like the first 25 years of my life and then I actually looked into it it’s like no none even thought alcoholic cooks off it’s all still there like like 20% of it or something so turn the heat up and let the wine reduce down a little bit you don’t want this to be watery you want it to be a nice thick sauce with a lot of flavor so reducing the sauce down that’s what concentrates the flavor as the wine is reducing we’re gonna add 3 to 4 cups of spinach the thing about spinach is you’ll add like tons of it and by the end of it you have like this much so just keep that in mind big handfuls you’re feeding the family and let that reduce down and then the only thing left is cream we’re gonna add the cream more as like a finishing element okay that looks pretty reduced down the last thing we’re going to add is one cup of heavy cream and now we’re still gonna let it simmer reduce down get all the water out of there concentrate the flavors and then finally we’ll add the chicken back in so lastly I’m gonna add the chicken back in and make sure it gets heated through Oh baby check that out and then you can just serve this just like this put it right in the middle of the table let everyone fight over it give that probably another minute or two and then we’ll give it a taste test dinner is served and the major smells you’re getting from this is the wine the wine and the spinach so all that’s left to do is really give this a try I’m gonna serve one up probably want to like put some of the spinach and the cream on top I love meals that have the meat and the veggies and the fat just like I’ll mix together that’s the best you don’t need side dishes you just need a big pot of food I’m not big on cooked spinach though actually ha really good nice and creamy the wine comes through a lot the best part of it is it’s a one skillet dish great for meal prep easy cleanup one thing I think I would add I actually think I forgot to do it is seasoned the sauce a little bit so salt and pepper in the sauce as always guys got a ton of other recipes on our
