hear you we can hear you all right so I’m super excited you’re
here to share a recipe from your new book yes 240 you have 40 recipes in the
book other more mostly plant-based some meat dishes but you know for the baby
out with the bathwater I love it all about balance common-sense healthy and
delicious I love crazy diet plan no restrictions not paleo not Kido no no
nonsense everyone can cook from this this is well
and all their ingredients are super accessible right they’re quite
inaccessible refuse really easy mostly five ingredient recipes yeah I
think people find super refreshing and every recipe has a full-page picture I’m
gonna spend supporting the attic sure’s picture – oh I’m a very visual person
700 pictures of the book all right I’m gonna take two years and I’m gonna cook
through this so many things I can cook from here so what are you share blog
what are you sharing with us today so we’re gonna go team pancakes pancakes
are you know on their list top ten lists of favorite dishes of course they’re
empty calorie carbs most of the time so we’re gonna flip it on its head turn it
into a protein based snack or lunch or breakfast I love it so kitchen hustle is
all about how you feel your hustle so this is kind of like a great way that
you start your morning’s with breakfast of champions
all right so and a big fan of smoothies so and a lot of people aren’t so they
have protein powder hanging around yes but you can use protein powder to make
pancakes crepes pasta all kinds of things that’s so great I’m so excited
about your protein powder how much protein in one once go so once you have
this there three grams has 20 grams of protein so
it’s almost 80% concentrate very and the sweetener I’m excited about is that you
use monk for fungal monk fruit it smells so good and it tastes good a lot of
people don’t like the aftertaste of stevia for example so much food is a
very reduced advertisement I call it the sting it’s got a very small stinger and
does not leave like that’s what we were after yeah yeah okay so let’s write it
it’s actually a Chinese fruit grown by monks yes my foots been yeah four five
six hundred years they use it to cure diabetes in Chinese yes I love that
because they put in a lot of medicine and brats and things like that so I’m
excited that you’re using it in your protein line so walk us through your

we’re gonna do two recipes which means four eggs and the next thing that we’re
gonna put in is unsweetened applesauce what you throw that in there all right
you want the whole thing in here or just and then the other ingredient is baking
powder yeah so should be about two teaspoons one of you eyeball that and
then you just get this super thick mixture basically pancake batter and it
goes on a hot griddle and when you prepare the griddle serve all right not
too hot we don’t want it to burn yeah we’re take a little bit longer than
regular pancakes okay and we’re using coconut oil good for high heat cooking
has a nice sweetness to it which I love you hear all that whiskey natural
antibacterial mm-hmm it’s a really healthy fat yeah sweet by the way
there’s some recent studies that claim it’s not healthy yeah all right wait so
we gotta talk about you just want the guy’s grocery thing what’s up Chum saw
that I saw it and you won what forty thousand dollars for health pork which
is a great nonprofit yes yep bringing healthy to high school kids I was so
real like yes because you know like when you’re talking about health a lot of
people think it you have to swap out them the deliciousness which is
absolutely kravinoff die
without deprivation is my thing yeah it’s all about I think when you’re
eating healthy delicious foods yeah go for it throw some on there we’re eating
healthy and delicious foods I think about my family the Italian background
how they ate so many fruits and vegetables and yeah I think it’s a it’s
the opposite effect patience indulgence I think it’s all about keeping it simple
– I think we over complicated things just keep it less process if you cook
everything from your cookbook we’re gonna be good to go right if you foods
out of your kitchen set out of a box you’re gonna be good wait for this to
solidify all right during the bubble up all right the coconut oil is browning
which is cool don’t worry about that walk me through the jam we already have
some made yeah but walk me through the jam so we call it a jam but it’s really
just a puree of fruit so take blueberries raspberries blackberries

through the recipe but you’ll just put in the blender blender blend it until
it’s a puree okay your photos are if you go long enough in a blender all right
actually warm up in the blender don’t come into a jam okay which is what
I’d like to see the blueberries yes it’s visual yeah come on through yeah we’ll
see you in a little citrus let’s do it turn it up a little bit more look at
that and I love that yellowness so what’s in them what’s in the protein
carb I like you went out of your way to create it on your own which I was like
wow isn’t that more work but you’re like no because you want to control the
ingredients they gots integrity all right well so who makes your protein
them like I make my protein powder process so the minute you say organic
are clean when you talk to co-packers they sort of like roll their eyes and
like max that’s next so if you want something super clean you kind of have
to make it yourself so I actually use a compost tumbler a brand-new clean
compost tumbler okay and I you know it’s probably a thousand I love it I’ve tasted it cuz you gave me
samples of it last time I was like oh Wellness of the school yes and I was
like oh this is really good look how great it just come together
this is a protein-packed a he’s got 8 grams of protein instead of 30 grams of
carbs and no protein yeah so it’s a good free pancake but you make with something
you ready to have me let me wipe down this plate and we’ll plate this because
I turn down the heat so it’s not burning alright alright so tell us what what
else is next so you have your book going on what what is your why Rocco cuz
something that we both connected on I was like I’m so happy to see someone
who’s paving this path of like wellness and like what was the feedback you got
first from your colleagues as I know that you’re classically trained from you
know a really great friendship you have Italian kids in Queens yeah I went to
France to learn how to cook well Jack’s teachers I was not so bad compared to
the average American diet it’s okay I’m in Paris like it is an 80 year old I
went from a hundred seventy pounds 140 pounds yeah in living in Paris may I
throw that I’m just eating the foods that we had there and so the process was
were used to eating in America I know I don’t know about you but at 38 I was
diagnosed with all kinds of awful things I was told my life expectancy would be
shortened by 20 years and working in the restaurant is not that healthy it’s long
hours high stress under a lot of heat lost literally other stuff yeah alright
we’re it’s a very indulgence right you know yours you’re up late and as you’re
doing anything right basically every habit that you alright thank you I’m
gonna use a spoon just dig right in there now really if you want to use
syrup in this case just straight up coconut nectar would be great or about
it yes lovely seeming true I’m not even just saying it okay all
right it’s good every time I chase something I’m ready
to fake it and then I love when I don’t have to figure I love it too no would
you make like a smoothie I’m like yeah so your book is coming out in October
they’ll be available everywhere so what’s a great oh for sure it’s three
orders you know what the of course yeah I got you then I’m gonna be ready next

you’ve done it’s my 13th book my eighth healthy book and it what it does not
have that you’ll probably like it does not have a diet program so you don’t
have to give up anything you have to do anything different all you have to do is
cook from the book and what I’ve heard from my fans is they just want more
recipes they don’t want to hear about diet theory now they know what keto is
they know a paleo yeah then what a vegan diet is so yep it’s mostly plant-based
just like the Mediterranean diet would be I love it so make sure you guys pop
