hey there my name is Anthony Romano and I’m gonna talk to you about how to use ketone supplements on a bulk and why it’s actually a really good idea to do so [Music] so if you’ve watched any of my other videos you know that I talked about exogenous ketones quite often they’re a very versatile product and there’s many benefits to them appetite suppression energy mental focus increasing fat burning they can almost and act as an antioxidant some points better cellular energy less cellular waste reduce oxidative stress there’s plenty benefits that come with this and not a lot of people know how to use these things in all the ways that they can be used so when it comes to bulking and workout style use of exotics ketones of course these are beneficial for an energy boost when you’re in ketosis but even if you’re not in ketosis you can use this to snap back in or as a boost of another fuel source for your body depending on how adapted your body is that using ketones that will vary but even if you’re somebody who doesn’t do keto at all watch the rest of this video because when it comes to using ketones they can provide a huge boost in your workouts for me I’ve always used them when I’m cutting here and there I’ve used them in basically every way possible during fasts during anything you can that’s another thing too you can use them to extend fasts for long periods of time so when it comes to using them on a bulk or muscle building phase okay use ketones for muscle building okay that’s gonna be the focus this video using ketones for muscle building has many benefits I’ll start off with the most on the cellular level okay on a cellular level ketones are a better fuel source for your mitochondria mitochondria is the engine of your cells okay that’s I hate throwing out the typical cheesy lines about mitochondria but that’s simply what they are and as I’ve been reading more about mitochondria in the energy production cycle which is the Krebs cycle using ketones or fatty acids in general but using ketones for the sake of this video is less wasteful than using carbohydrate so for somebody who does any approach with carbohydrates especially for somebody who bounces around with low-carb keto fasting your body is gonna be better at using fats so you’re gonna be using a mix of fats and carbs whether and if you know you’re doing a keto bulk it’s fine too but I’m gonna talk about all types of balking in this video keto bulk carb bulk high carb bulk when you throw ketones into the mix you’re giving your body another very potent fuel source that your mitochondria can use very effectively if you’ve ever seen dr. Dominic D’Agostino on YouTube he’s one of the big keto guys basically the keto profit of you know the in a scientific sense at least and he’s talked about plenty of experiment basically what a lot of his work entails is that he’ll do a lot of studies with exogenous ketones supplementation for people with a variety of ailments in addition to all the other research he does on the brain so there are people who are diabetics taking this not type 1 diabetics were taking this or people with Alzheimer’s who are taking this there are people with arthritis problems joint problems and essentially as soon as they’re taking this fuel source which is better further set better for their body on a cellular level they gain a huge boost of energy their mood increases there are children who have terrible debilitating either mental diseases or physical diseases and they’re dramatically improved from Elise from from what we know so far from using exhaust ketones the quote he used in a podcast I heard and one of the hundreds of podcasts I’ve heard with this guy is that he will get people who are 70 years old and can barely move and all of a sudden they’re dancing that’s kind of the phrasing he used in one of these podcasts I believe it was a podcast with Dave Asprey as well so now let’s apply the extreme situation to the everyday situation of you want to build more muscle this is going to be better and an additional fuel source for your body and one that is not going to come with a huge blood sugar spike okay for somebody who’s doing lots of carb bulking there’s the downside that after you’ve carved up you’re gonna if your body’s dependent on the carb metabolism you’re gonna be on that loop if you’re somebody who does your body’s probably adapted Aikido then you probably won’t have that much of a risk with the carb metabolism or if you’re somebody who’s just doing full-on keto and muscle building it will be just smooth the process that you’re already pretty smooth with so ketones can also act as a vasodilator basically improving blood flow in your body and in muscle building in a bodybuilding context that’s very important so for me I’ve been experimenting actually with your head to check my notes there I’ve been experimenting with muscle building and using ketones and essentially I have felt more of an endurance effect with ketones they’re also useful at buffering lactic acid in a certain way your brain can actually use the lactic acid as a fuel afterwards and that’s how it clears out essentially so if you’re trying to build muscle is it gonna directly benefit that not necessarily is it going to give you more energy in kind of a pre-workout weight without the cons of crashing and anyway whether it’s on the carbs or stimulants anything yes it will give you that added boost especially if your body is better handling them one caveat I’ll throw with this is if you’re new and you’ve never tried these before and you eat a lot of carbs do not use a high dose because that could upset your stomach there could be MCT carriers in there it can give you a lot of gastrointestinal distress do not do that start off slow if you’re somebody who’s adapted and you use these before and you’re trying to use them for muscle building or you’re considering it don’t be afraid of that it’s probably fine but I urge caution and anything overall it’s gonna come down to a fuel benefits okay we know that these products are very beneficial when it comes to mental focus we know they’re very beneficial when it comes to energy overall and I don’t know if many people are aware of how powerful it can be when you have two potent fuel sources when you have a good amount of carb glycogen in your muscles and you have the fatty acids or ketones as the other fuel when you have two fuels your body is dramatically more effective and it’s gonna use both those fuels more effective that’s what all the studies show in people who are fat adapted because after a certain point of low carb dieting your body has to get better at both or else it’s gonna risk running through all its fuel stores so that’s the video that’s it basically consider using these if you’ve already used in the past consider using them for mental function and overall you got a problem make a video on this as well with longevity after I research more about the mitochondrial effect of using ketones which is something that science is currently still dabbling with and tinkering with especially the work of somebody like Dominic D’Agostino because overall anything that you can do to improve your mitochondria function is going to be better for longevity it’s gonna be better for your body in a multitude of ways not only because of what it’s providing your body right through a better fuel source
