just trance all the light out on this video so the first reason why you don’t need to do a ketogenic diet is because it’s just something necessary you’re going to do it because you’re trying to lose weight right and there’s lots of ways to diet to lose weight and doing qjj is not a necessary component of that ultimately all that you need to do to lose weight is to eat less calories oil take in less calories down you’re expending now it’s not just what you eat it’s also the way enough of your metabolism and just keeping you alive and your exercise and your activity well you’re basically use me to expend more calories there and you’ll bring it in and you will lose weight so reading ketosis is not a necessary requirement of that which brings us up to number two which is it’s overly complicated it’s just it doesn’t need to be that complicated now being on a low-carb diet is not the same thing as being in ketosis now look update is relatively simple to follow well it’s actually restrictive obviously it’s very restrictive just said you have to basically eat just fun so you can’t need any carbohydrate you can even eat very much protein and that makes it very very difficult to be anything basically you just eat fat so you can’t ever eat out you can only meal so you make yourself which are basically all far which probably I’m going to taste very good because it’s very one-dimensional something is very satisfying it’s not very sociable and it’s just very very restrictive which makes it reasonable for no foot there’s no foot all you lose the job the food because you’ve restricted to eating like five things which I’ll fight for you to taste nice like don’t you complain about you Ian bacon or bullet but it’s not exactly very well-rounded and eating just that on its own all of the time will quickly become no fun at all you know you have anything sweet you don’t have anything starchy you’re not going to even girls out watching the whey protein it’s just very very repetitive very restrictive and because it’s so difficult to follow it so restrictive it’s not only no fun in the fact that you’re not eating very many different things but it’s no fun in the fact that you have to think about it all the damn time you’re obsessing over diet all of the time which is absolutely no fun at all nobody else think about the diet all the time you just wanna be able to eat normally and easily and simply in you know not to think buy too much you know five it is a fad now I’m old enough to remember the last time the keto was called which is four five six years ago it’s kind of when paleo first came out like one the sort of harder extreme if Talia was like keto and it went out of fashion then for the same reasons that we’re talking about today just like it will go out of fashion again this time if no one went doing it year ago now the last three four five six months apparently every fitness guy with it into that connection is talking about keno and I get why they jump on the fad because once it gains critical momentum everybody wants to buy it so it makes sense to sell it from a business perspective well that doesn’t mean it’s not fun and it will move on to the next fad like you know we’ve been through plenty of fat so it’s paleo and there was if it fits your macros flexible dieting thing then now we’ve come to the keto like there’s nothing inherently wrong with any of them and I’m not saying that keto diets don’t work they do but it’s just a fad that goes in and out of fashion because they all work and they all work for the same reason which is not the reason that they sell you the diet they work because you control the calorie amount the amount colors that you’re eating that’s why although it’s work and they just market it open package in a different way say like them the magic formula is to be into ketosis or the magic formula is to be paleo or to fit your macros or whatever and like that’s not the magic formula the magic formula is just to eat the right amount calories number six it’s short-term the reason short-term is poke because it’s a father it’ll go our fashion partly because it’s so restrictive is so complicated and it’s not fun and you’re gonna miss all of your favorite foods and it’s so hard to actually stay in ketosis without going out of it you know you’ll go out of it when you eat one meal that’s not just fun so it’s never gonna be sustainable you’re never gonna be able to eat like that for very long which again like if you’re just trying to lose weight and you’re in life is hardcore die in face then maybe that’s not the end of the world maybe you don’t need a long-term diet right now but for most people most of the time you’re better off instead of having it a diet have just a general nutrition plan that you follow every day for the rest of your life because you eat like an adult just eat healthily and control what you eat don’t have eyes bigger than your belly don’t eat with a shovel and just control what you’re doing Andy I dabble and you’ll be fine like if you need to track things and track if you need to measure and count things and measure and count things which intersect if they want to if you’re actually dieting but if you’re just maintenance you don’t and when you’re dating you know you get a bit more extreme and you get a bit more measured if you control things to a greater degree that’s not forever it’s for a period I’ll tell you attend it was also you’re looking for the final one number seven is it’s actually probably counterproductive for a lot of people they depend on where you are if you’re really really fat and you have a ton of weight to lose then it’s probably a great diet it’s a great solution for you but if you want to change the way that you look you’re not just trying to lose weight because you’ve weighed 350 pounds but your child builds muscle you trying to change the way that you look and get a buffer and get them attractive then it’s not probably counterproductive and I’ll tell you why in a sec likewise if you’re even if you’re a woman and you’re trying to just be able to stay lean with greater ease guys well having more muscle mass is going to make that easier because muscle is an expensive tissue it burns a lot of calories so you burn your tunnel you guys I’ll be burned my calories every day you have to do less to remain in yeah deficit or like a balanced neutral level so it’s just easier to stay lean and subscreen lose weight in the future the reason that keto is probably kind of productive is because it’s difficult to build muscle on keto and obviously if you’re in a color deficit as well which is probably why you do keo then it’s gonna make it even harder still but the reason being is what do you think the most eat I don’t anabolic words right what do you think most anabolic hormone is in the body testosterone growth hormone it’s actually insulin the insulin is released when you eat carbohydrates or to a degree when you approach me and that is what drives storage of energy and that’s all muscle is its storage of energy you’ll need to lay the tissues down and you store proteins there to build muscle so without insulin it’s very difficult to actually build muscle because it’s not driving that anabolic rush of nutrients into the muscles what’ll happen is you just kind of everything’s just going through and you’re burning the energy that you bring in any reserve energy because it’s all coming in a spark energy the reserve energy is just gonna get burn off or it’s going to get started spa it’s not really preferentially going to go to muscle now the none of these are absolutes obviously can build muscle okay obviously the whole insulin is good in fact quite the opposite obviously not all ketosis is bad and I’m not saying it is and none of these absolutes I’m talking generalities if you want to build muscle then you need some carbohydrates or you’ll benefit from some carbohydrates at least because it drives nutrients into the muscles and gets the most out of all that common not having that it’s going to be detrimental to building muscle right so along with everything else that just makes it a bit of a necessary employed less diet so I know it’s a fashion right now and it’s kind of the cool thing to do and it’s the next greatest thing in it you know this trick and this hack like just stop looking for traits and short-term fixes and hacks and whatever that happens to be call at the moment the human body has not changed barely at all in literally millions of years and we’ve survived quite well and is only recently lost probably 30 or 40 years that we’ve had any kind of like a BC crisis or any of that so you’ve got to look at like do you think people just to get grandparents were doing keto or your great Grandpa’s do you think they were doing ketta now were they all Oaks they just ate food any difference was food wasn’t quite as abundant and full of calories as it is now the ate food that came from natural sources because that’s mostly what was available they would eat meat and veg potatoes and rice because that will use what’s available and that’s how you should eat it because when you eat proper food you don’t even eat too many calories unless you just be greedy because it’s filling when you pop taps and doughnuts then it’s a lot easier to eat a lot more calories because they’re very very calorie dense because they’re stuffed full of sugar and oil and shine so eat natural foods like eat like an adult eat you meet your face show your eggs your veg your potatoes your eyes it’s really that simple if you’re trying to lose weight and control your calories measure them and even control your macros if you’re a little bit further down the road and you’ve already got bit muscle we’ve been training for a while and you know you want to you’ve got the way off of maximizing holding on to as much muscle as possible and looking as jacked as possible with also get leaner if you’re just trying to lose weight if you’re just saying I’ve got significant my weight to lose I just worry about losing weight to start with and then take things from there because when you lean it everything else becomes easier when you leave you’ll have higher testosterone so it’s easier to build muscle when you lean you’ll have greater insulin sensitivity so it’s easier to build muscle and easier to not getting fun so yeah that’s my opinion on keto unnecessary and he’s just a fart rather than looking for the fad walk for the long-term solution look for something that you could start today and you can still be doing in 50 years time because it’s just a normal wavy and it’s not difficult doesn’t take too much thinking about doesn’t take you going out of your way to maintain it or sustain it that’s just a normal eating like an adult
