hey there my name is Anthony Romano and in this video I’m going to tell you the biggest keto truth bombs that will probably change the way you look at keto dieting altogether and low carb dieting and probably all dieting actually [Music] alright so the keto truth bombs the first one you might know half of it but the first truth bomb is that the most kinetic thing you can do is not eat anything at all so say that twice the most ketogenic thing you can do is not eat anything at all so fast so some people know that fasting will put you in ketosis or intermittent fasting gives you a taste of ketosis pun intended but not many people know that the way to get into the deepest level of ketosis is too fast for multiple days on end what this is going to do is because you’re not eating any carbs and drought eating anything else because this is what a ketogenic diet is the number one rule is no carbs right that’s truth bone there but that’s not one of the ones I’m including in the video not eating any carbs puts you in ketosis whether you’re eating food or not as long as there’s no carbs in place you are going to be in ketosis and the deepness of ketosis which you are in will be even greater if you’re not consuming anything this is going to put your body into more of an of a need to create its own energy so let’s get into the second truth bomb here because that ties in perfectly with your body meeting to make his own energy or source its own energy rather because many people will say that Keo is starvation mode now keto is the exact opposite of starvation mode in fact that’s why so many people feel great while they’re eating ketogenic Li or if they fast for you know longer periods of time which many people do if that’s new to you essentially people will say that quito is starvation mode because it taxes your body and you know you need to eat every 5 hour every 5 minutes a day at once every hour that’s what people will throw at you often times and you don’t need to eat every so often like that you can eat whatever you’d like to but when you are creating that much of a time span in between your meals your body will be required to be in ketosis in order to produce energy so that sounds a lot like starvation mode it’s not think about what starvation means starvation means that you are in need of sustenance you’re in need of energy okay you’re starved and you need to keep filling up right well then why is it that every time somebody fasts they’re not hungry their appetite goes down there shouldn’t they be the opposite of starve or should they be the opposite of starvation mode they’re acting like they’re full why is it that people who are fasting for days on end seem to act more as if they’re full than if they’re starving right and some people will say that’s because it’s you know it’s a trick it’s your mind tricking you that it’s in starvation mode that’s all bs okay that’s obvious think about it logically if you were starved you are going to keep eating food and still be hungry that is the definition definition of starvation is that you keep eating food yet you’re still hungry and this is funny enough commonly what many people ascribe to they will eat multiple meals a day and still be hungry they’re eating food yet it’s not filling them up that is actually the definition of starvation if you’re able to not eat food and still not be hungry that’s the complete opposite of starvation you’re actually fed you’re full because your body is tapping into a very potent energy source as your body’s stored fat and it’s going to be purging your body of the toxins within your fat and at the same time it’s also going to be tapping into the nutrient source within your fat because fat will store toxins and it will store vitamins dependable fat soluble vitamins AED and K so essentially whatever you have in your fat stores if you’re somebody who needs to cleanse out detoxifying you’ll be getting more of that if you’re somebody who has you know healthier stores of fat and you’re just trying to lean down lose weight then you will not only get the detoxification benefits but you will get extra nutrient quality because it’s stored in your fat your buddy saves it for times like this and that is also why people are sometimes able to fast for weeks and months on end with no problems because perhaps they’re tapping into a more nutrient-dense energy source and then it makes you think another truth mom here is that fat is the most potent and preferred fuel source of the body ok this is probably the last truth bomb I’ll use as the centerpiece of this video because I threw in other ones as well but this one is that fat is your body’s preferred energy source I talk about this all the time but I’ll elaborate a little more here when I’m saying that fat is your preferred energy source many of you will know the argument I always put out which is your body stores dramatically larger amounts of fat than it stores of carbs right this is why we’re able to add seemingly endless amounts of fat but only a couple thousand calories worth of carbs in our body mainly in the liver and your muscles so essentially people will make this argument that carbs are the preferred fuel source of your brain and this is where you’re probably going to expect me to say fattens the preferred fuel source that is the preferred fuel source but here’s the little caveat to that the little conditioned upon fat being the primary energy source is what your body is used to now your body will function smoother on fat if you are to get fat adapted but if you take somebody and you study them and they’ve been eating carbs on their life their body will act as if it is preferring carbs since that is what it’s used to of so you know that makes it sound like the general whatever works for you right that type of willy-nilly women to call attitude about what you should do for optimal health and how you feel but what I’m truly trying to say is your body can adapt to either fuel source but of course fat is a more potent fuel source again I always say fat has nine calories per gram and carbs have four per gram which means that fat is not just something you should avoid because it’s higher calorie it literally means that it’s a better fuel source it’s the same thing with gasoline I always say this the higher octane fuel has more energy per litre fat is literally more than double the fuel source that carbs are and this doesn’t mean that carbs are the devil or carbs are bad it just simply means that you will experience very smooth energy while you’re on a fat metabolism for me in my own personal experience I’m able to work two jobs in the daytime and come over to my house after the gym and whatnot and a girlfriend and maintenance around my house and with my dog and then still film these videos barely stuttering in any of the videos I mean sure maybe I’m not perfect all the time but I shoot my videos in one take style because it’s the best way for me to communicate my message and this is the type of luxury that keto and fat metabolism will afford to you you will have much greater mental focus even 16 to 18 hours into the day even on a day like today where I didn’t sleep that well so I’m gonna stop indulging myself here and get back to the point of this video the final truth bomb is that as the preferred fuel source of course if your body is running on carbs it’s going to give you a hard time when you’re trying to switch that fuel source but your brain is made of fat your cells are surrounded by fat and we store plenty of fat way more than we saw of carbs which seems to imply that our body would rather have that fuel source saved up in case of a famine and carbs just think about it why would it save up the fuel source that it doesn’t prefer for the brain because that’s basically our body’s primary function is to serve the brain a lot of the functions in your body are aimed at that sole purpose protect the brain facilitate all the functions of the brain because the brain is the thing that keeps us alive and kido also has many benefits for the brain due to foods that you’re commonly eating fattier
